As Easy As 1-2-3 in The Shabby Tea Room!

Welcome back for another fabulous challenge in The Shabby Tea Room! This week's challenge comes to us from Nicole and she has given us a recipe challenge: 1 ribbon, 2 buttons, and 3 punches.  Don't be afraid - it may sound difficult but it really isn't.  :)  Promise.

This week's sponsor in the Tea Room is one of my favorites, JustRite Stampers.  They have got some AMAZING stamps and I am totally lovin' their new clear stampers and the new Christmas sets are super-cute.  This week's winner will win a prize package filled with lots of JustRite goodies.

I decided to use JustRite's Groovy Snowman set and knew that this week's Color Throwdown combination would work PERFECTLY with a wintery-themed card.  I still don't have any Marina Mist so I had to find another color from my stash that would work:

Our fearless leader, Debbie, just became one of the Truly Scrumptious DT so when I saw that their sketch had the PERFECT shapes and layout for the STR challenge, I HAD to use it (but I *did* make it into a square because my image is so large...):
Here's how I incorporated the recipe:
  • 1 Ribbon - I used ribbon in more than one place but it is the same ribbon so I hope that counts...  :)
  • 2 Buttons - Bottom right corner...  :)
  • 3 Punches - This is the part I kind of *fudged* a bit... I used three different sizes of circle Nestabilities around my image.

Recipe - Stamps: Groovy Snowman (JustRite Stampers), Ornamental Christmas (Verve)  Paper: Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, unknown light blue, SU! DSP (retired)  Ink: Not Quite Navy, Memento Tuxedo Black  Accessories: Paper piercer, Nestabilities, Copics, Copic Spica glitter pens. Dots & Snowflakes embossing folder, buttons, hemp twine, Wild Wasabi stitched ribbon, Hodgepodge Hardware - Styled Silver

A Little Bitta' PPC and a Little Bitta' JUGS...

Here we are again...  :)

This week's combo over at Picture Perfect Creations gave me a bit of trouble - I just couldn't wrap my brain around the pink and red.  I don't have any Cherry Cobbler yet so I had to use Riding Hood Red instead.  :)

I haven't played along with the gals at Just Us Girls for awhile so I thought I'd give this week's sketch a whirl:

In addition to the fabulous sketch, they have an additional "challenge" for us: use stamps from Just Rite Stampers if you've got them... and lucky for me, I've got them!  The center is from the Girl Time Borders and Centers set and the border is from the Just a Little Caffeine Borders and Centers set:

Recipe - Stamps: Just Rite Stampers (info above), sentiment from Verve  Paper: Whisper White, Rose Red, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, SU! DSP  Ink: Riding Hood Red, Versafine Onyx Black  Accessories: Parisian border punch (EK Success), Nestabilities, buttons, twine, Whisper White taffeta ribbon, paper piercer, Paisley embossing folder, clear embossing powder, pop dots

This card also fits this week's challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room to use embossing and I used both dry and heat embossing on this card.  :)

Don't you just LOVE the bling on the purse?  Gives it just a little bitta' sparkle.  :)  I had a bit of trouble with my new border punch but I wasn't about to start all over.  ;)

I hope you give this week's color combo a try and if you need some more inspiration, please visit the rest of the PPC Creators' blogs to see what they did:

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy the rest of your Monday!

"Dear to My Heart" at The Shabby Tea Room

What a fun week this will be at The Shabby Tea Room!  Not only did Audrey pick a super fun theme, Just Rite Stampers is our sponsor in the Tea Room this week!  I have admired their stamps for a LONG time and now I have some to play with...how much fun is that?

Audrey decided that it was time to pay homage to hearts and, thus, the theme "Dear to My Heart."  She is challenging us to use a heart as our main focal point.  Sounds easy enough, right???  That's what I thought too...  Turns out it wasn't so simple.

I went through my DP for some inspiration and found my Basic Grey Kioshi paper that I thought would be fun to use again.  I glittered up some of my grungeboard hearts, found a Papertake Weekly sketch and...

Recipe - Stamps: Girl Time 2" Stamper (Just Rite Stampers)
Paper: Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Basic Grey Kioshi
Ink: Perfect Plum
Accessories: Paper piercer, grungeboard, glitter, Mod Podge, Nestabilities, ric-rac, Leafy Branch embossing folder

As you can see, my hearts are NOT my focal point.  I originally had the hearts where the sentiment is but realized a little too late that I was going to have to switch them around...whatever!  I think the green glitter is a bit dark in the picture but it isn't that dark IRL.

I hope you'll take some time to play with us - you could be our Shabby Tea Room winner of a $25 Gift Certificate from Just Rite Stampers!!!  Make sure you stop and check out what the rest of the DT did with hearts:
