{SSSC173}

YIPPEE!!!  It's December!!!  I can hardly believe it is here already and there are only 23 days until Christmas - I have soooooo much stuff to do between now and then.  We're hosting my family this year so we'll have 6-8 additional humans in the house plus *possibly* FIVE extra dogs!  I am really looking forward to it but the next few weeks are going to be extremely busy.  I haven't even started the Christmas shopping, we have to finish painting and getting the guest room ready so my nieces have somewhere to sleep and the list goes on...work, school, gym and somewhere in there I suppose I need to eat and sleep!

But right now I'm comfy and cozy in my craft room with my Christmas tunes cranked and I think that's where I'll be for the rest of the day trying to get a bunch of DT stuff done for this month.  I know everyone is busy this month but we'd love it if you joined us for a fun sketch over at Sweet Sunday Sketches sometime over the next two weeks.  It's another stunner that is super-simple to make CAS...and quick:

I decided to leave the sketch just as it is and use a very simple sentiment from a MFT Pure Innocence set I found in my box...never inked...*sigh*

The color combo is from this week's CR84FN Color Challenge:

4CCC-112 {Dry Embossing} & RS33 & CR84FN65

Hello everyone! It's time for another 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge and this week Tamie is our hostess-with-the-mostest and she's challenging us to use dry embossing on our creations!  That should be super-simple for everyone with so many different embossing folders out there...

I didn't have a lot of time to put this card together so I decided to go CAS again...what is the world coming to?  I used to have layer upon layer and now...?

I used this week's CR84FN Color Challenge combo as well as the sketch from RetroSketches:

Have fun with the dry embossing - can't wait to see your creations!  Thanks for stopping by!

4CCC-110 {Thanksgiving} & RS31 & CR84FN64

Welcome back, everyone!  Here we go with another 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge.  This upcoming Monday is Thanksgiving here in Canada so Leanne, this week's hostess-with-the-mostest, has given us the theme of "Thanksgiving" to use as inspiration for this week's creations.

I decided to go pretty literally with this one and make a thank you card.  This is the last challenge for DT submissions over at the CR84FN Color Challenge and look at the gorgeous combo they've got for us to play with...LOVE IT!

I don't get to play along with RetroSketches very often, but when I do, it's always a treat 'cause they come up with amazing ones like this:

A fairly CAS card with lots of fun, bright papers:

If you have time, we'd love to have you join us for this week's challenge - I know it's a bit early for all my American friends, but think of it as a head-start... :)  See you on Sunday for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch!

{SSSC168} & {CR84FN63}

Happy Sweet Sunday, everyone!!!  It's officially FALL - my favorite time of the year.  The smells, the colors and the cooler temperatures all make me feel warm and fuzzy.  This weekend I'm enjoying the wonderful Rocky Mountains in Banff with my PIC, Lori, and her sister, Jackie.  Jackie and I both did a 10K run yesterday while Lori was our own personal cheering squad.  The mountains in the fall have got to be one of the most amazing sights ever... I will try to post some pics when I get back.

Enough babbling about me - who's ready for another amazing Sweet Sunday Sketch from Karen?   As always, you can layer it all up or, if you're in a rush, CAS is easy-peasy too:

My color combo comes courtesy of the CR84FN Color Challenge -  I love these colors.  Right now they have a DT Call going on so I'm throwing my name into the ring for that too...you all know how much I love my color challenges so I think this would be a perfect match.  :)  I decided to use Early Espresso, Soft Suede and an old SU! color, Blue Bayou, for this combo:

... and this week's amazing Guest Sweet Stamper, Broni Holcombe!

I hope you will be able to find some time to play along with us this week - the next sketch will be in OCTOBER!!!  ACK!!!  Have a great week, everyone!

4CCC-101 {Distressing}

Hey there, everyone! It's Thursday and that means a brand new challenge over at the 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge.  This week, Leanne is the hostess-with-the-mostest and she wants to see some projects that are in distress.  No, not a project that's sending out an SOS - we want to see some distressing on your project.  You could ink the edges, distress the paper, use distress ink... it's up to you.

For my card, I used a lovely color combination from the CR84FN Color Challenge as well as a fantastic Mojo Monday sketch I will be using again...perfect for those leftover bits of paper we all have in our craft rooms:

I never seem to have any birthday cards when I need them so I figured I'd use a lovely sentiment from Verve on this one.  Thanks for stopping by - make sure to stop and see the rest of the Chicks 'cause I know they'd love to see you. :)

4CCC-99 {Make a Box}

Hello everyone!  We've got a fun challenge for you this week over at the 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge.  Tamie is our hostess-with-the-mostest and she is challenging you all to make your own box.

There are tons and tons of fabulous tutorials over at Splitcoast Stampers that show you how to make your own box.  I used this one to make mine...oh so easy!!  There's a box for any occasion and most of them don't take a genius to figure them out. :)

I used this beautiful, bright, summery color combo from the CR84FN Color Challenge to make my box:

Still not sure what I'm going to put in this little gift box - almost don't want to give it away.  :)  Thanks for stopping by - don't forget to take a few minutes to stop by and visit the rest of the Chicks' blogs and see what kind of boxes they made.  Later, gators!

Guest Sweet Sunday Stamper {SSSC159}

OH. MY. GOSH!!! How excited am I???  Over-the-MOON excited, I tell ya!  Thanks to Karen over at Sweet Sunday Sketches for asking me to be this week's Guest Designer!  Karen's sketches are some of my favorite "go-to"s so I was THRILLED to get a sneak peek at this week's to play along with her and the rest of the fabulously amazing design team!

I must say I LOVE this week's sketch - lots of layers and those little fish-tail flags I {love} so much. :)  Take a peek:

I used a lovely, calm color combo from the gals over at CR84FN Color Challenge to make a *relatively* simple Thank You card.  I tried to keep it as flat as possible because I have to mail this one!  The little wooden star button might prove a bit tricky but it was so cute, I had to use it!  Oh - and I turned the sketch so it is up & down instead of side-to-side:

If you'd like to play along with us this week (and why wouldn't you?), don't forget to check out the rest of Karen's amazing DT:

and then link your card back at the Sweet Sunday Sketch post.  Thanks, again, Karen for letting me join you this week!  I had a great time and look forward to many more fantastic sketches!

Can You Feel The Love?

Morning everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying the week - we've been enjoying some amazing weather (knock on wood) here in Central AB and I sure hope it stays that way for a long time.  The family and I are off to visit my parents this weekend so I hope the weather stays nice for us there.

I am your hostess this week over at the 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge and, like everywhere else, we want to see your cards showcasing Valentine's Day and/or love.  Pretty simple, right?  I had fun combining the CR84FN Color Challenge with a TCP Tuesday sketch and then I pulled out one of my NEW TCP stamps, "Feelin' Cupidy" to make this fun little number:

That's it for me today!  Enjoy the rest of the week - the weekend isn't far away.  :)

There She Goes Sneak Peek {Day One}

No “bots” set would be complete without Nursebot! Torico has done it again. She warmed your heart last month with Lovebots and this month she’s going to make you feel all better with Nursebot. What a great way to send well wishes then a visit from the Nursebot.
Nursebot is a 4x4 set that includes a total of 11 stamps and will sell for $10.00.

What a fun set Torico has designed for us this month!  Some fun images and sentiments sure to make a smile come to your face.  I didn't have a lot of time to get this card done - I left it until the last minute and then struggled to make it *just right.*  In the end, I combined the CR84FN Color Challenge with the Week 3 Viva la Verve sketch to come up with this:

Would you like to win the new Nursebot stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetters' blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post. You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more you comment, the better your chances are of winning new stamps! The Blog Hop Challenges will be open until 5 PM Eastern Time Saturday, January 28th with the winner being announced during the release party chat.

Have fun hopping -see you tomorrow with another fun set!

Ready for a Recipe Challenge?

Hey everyone!  Thanks for stopping by for another 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge.  The weather here in Central Alberta has been unseasonably warm the last few weeks but next week's forecast is not looking very nice so I am enjoying the warmth while I can.  :)

I'm the hostess for this week's 4CCC and I've got a recipe challenge for you: 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 layers.  Shouldn't be too difficult - we all love ribbon, buttons and layers, right?

This week's challenge over at There She Goes is paper piecing and, lucky for me, I was able to combine these two challenges.  I also used the CR84FN Color Challenge and a Clean & Simple Stamping sketch:

Stamps: World's Best, Warmest Wishes (TSG)  Paper: Picadilly (BG), Marina Mist, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie  Ink: So Saffron, Marina Mist  Accessorie-s: Sewing machine, buttons, Daffodil Delight satin ribbon, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Nesties, twine

Thanks for stopping by today - have fun with this challenge!  See you soon!
