Kraftin' Kimmie Guest Designer & CQC241 & SSSC219

Good morning, everyone!  Remember WAYYYYYY back in January/February when I was in the running for a Guest Designer spot over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps?  Well, I was lucky enough to win one of the spots for the month of May and this is my FIRST post!!!  :)  The upcoming new release is amazing - I know you're going to love it...but for now, you get to see a card using one of the older sets, Perfect Poison.

It is also the time of the week for a brand new Colour Q challenge and this week's combo sure had me scratching my head...metallics are not a usual "go-to" color for me:

I also used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch but made mine a square instead of the rectangular size in order to fit the image:

I hope you will play along with us over at the Colour Q Challenge as well as the Kraftin' Kimmie Anything Goes challenge!  We'd love to see your creations!  I will be back on Saturday with another Kraftin' Kimmie post - see you then!

Birthday Wishes... {CQC239} & {SSSC217}

Happy Tuesday again!!! I can't believe how quickly the weeks have been slipping by - it's like I blink and I miss it...please tell me I'm not the only one????

This week's Colour Q combo is full of bright, spring-y colors...just what the doctor ordered for curing the when-is-spring-going-to-get-here blues.  :)  Take a look:

I thought I'd click on over to the Sweet Sunday Sketch to see what Karen's got going on over there this week and, wouldn't you know it, the PERFECT sketch for the flowers I was planning to use:

And, yes...it's ANOTHER birthday card.  My mother-in-law just came and bought every single one I had in my stash so now it's time to replenish...

So, that's it for me.  I've got a fairly quiet week planned - a couple of classes at the gym and, hopefully, a few outdoor runs to get me ready for my first 10K of the season May 24.  I have NOT been faithful in my training so it should be interesting... but who can complain when a weekend in the mountains is the reward?

Have a great week, everyone!

Bundle of Joy {CQC233} & {SSSC211}

Howdy,everyone! I've got a quick card to share with you all today - it's time for a new Colour Q combo and Arielle has chosen an awesome, spring-y bedding set as this week's inspiration:

I decided to use the Sweet Sunday Sketch again this week and whipped up a baby card using some left-to-gather-dust Verve awesomeness:

That's it for me - I'm sure enjoying this awesome spring weather but not the mud that inevitably comes with it.  It will dry up soon, right? ;)

Have a great week - next week is Spring Break for my boys so I'm sure looking forward to that...see you then!

CQC231... {Life Doesn't Have to Be Perfect...}

Hello, everyone! Well, it appears that spring may FINALLY be here in Central Alberta - the temperatures have been GORGEOUS and I've been able to get outside for a couple of walk/runs...that definitely lifts my spirits.  :)  There's something so refreshing about the smell of the spring air and the warmth of the sun...best day ever, right?

This week we've got another fun, St. Patrick's Day-inspired combo for you to play with over at the Colour Q...but this one has a twist.  One of the "colors" is newsprint!!  Take a peek:

I haven't played along over at the Sweet Sunday Sketch even once since I stepped away from the DT so I figured it was about time I remedy that!  This week's sketch is, as always, an awesome one that you can keep CAS or fussy it up - love that versatility:

Here in the Hubert household, we've been going through a few "bumps in the road" lately and I have to remind myself daily of this sentiment...

SSSC #200 and a Fond Farewell...

Welcome back everyone!! I hope you are all pretty close to being ready for the big day - only 3 more sleeps!  I think I am pretty close to being ready - we will be celebrating with my husband's family on Tuesday and then enjoying Christmas Day at home.  I still haven't decided if we will head down to visit my parents between Christmas and New Year's - we'll see...

Today I've got some good news and sad news - let's start with the good news!!  It is time for the 200th Sweet Sunday Sketch!!!  Can you believe we're up to 200 already?  I feel so thankful and blessed to be part of such an awesome design team - Karen and the girls are one-in-a-million.  :)  To celebrate this amazing milestone, Karen will be offering up a gift certificate to the My Favorite Things store to one lucky participant so please try and play along with us!  Here's the final sketch of 2013:

And now for the sad news... this will my final sketch as part of the SSSC Design Team.  I have had a lot of *life stuff* going on the past few months and just feel like it is time to let some responsibilities go to free up some time to focus on my family and friends.  This was a VERY difficult decision for me to make and I took a LONG time deciding what to do.  I will miss everyone but will still try and play along when time allows!

For my card, I used this week's color combo from the Just Us Girls Challenge - love the reds and browns together:

...and don't forget about the MFT gift certificate up for grabs!!!  You've got two weeks to play along so when you have a few minutes after the hustle and bustle dies down, I hope you will join us!

See you on Tuesday for a new Colour Q!

SSSC199 & Curtain Call {Christmas Countdown}

OH. MY. LORD!!!! First off I just want to say how incredibly thankful I am that I have a warm home to lay my head - it is FREAKIN' COLD here.  Like, not just *chilly* but freeze-your-arse-off-in-less-than-a-minute cold. Yesterday when I woke up, it was -37C but with the wind, it felt like -49C! I'll convert that for all you Farenheit-ers...-34.6F or -56.2F with the wind chill - a perfect excuse to stay inside and craft, wouldn't you say?  :)

It's time for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch  - #199.  Can you believe it?  I bet Karen's got something fun up her sleeve for #200...we'll have to wait and see!  For now, here's the sketch for the next two weeks:

I used the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge for my card...it's all about Christmas this time of year:

I dug out an old There She Goes set, Holly Jolly for this one - LOVE the jingle bell accents, don't you?

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like... {SSSC198} & {Colour and Sketches #52}

Good morning, everyone! I'm so glad you were able to stop by today - I've got an awesome Sweet Sunday Sketch to share with you all.  I had to make a few minor tweaks on my card because when I punched out that little bit at the top-right corner, it just didn't look *right*.  So I added a little tab detail and quite like how it turned out:

 Also, my image panel is a *bit* larger than the square Karen had envisioned:

The awesome color palette is courtesy of the CAS-Colours and Sketches Blog - perfect for a Christmas card:

Okie dokie - that's it for me today.  I'll be back on Tuesday with a new Colour Q challenge... see you then!

SSSC197 & A New-to-Me Color Challenge

Hey everyone! I'm so glad to be back with a brand new Sweet Sunday Sketch.  I had to sit the last one out because our internet service was NOT cooperating so I'm very glad it is working...for now.  :)  Take a peek at this week's sketch:

I happened to come upon a new-to-me challenge blog, CAS - Colours and Sketches that alternates between a color challenge and a sketch challenge - this week was a calming color combo:

I haven't used many of my *other* stamps lately so I used this opportunity to dig out one of my Stampin' Up! sets, Chalk Talk, to make this lovely, little card:

DD77 & SSSC196

Morning everyone! Sorry this is late - our internet was down for most of the evening last night and I couldn't get it posted until this morning. So - this will be a quick post as I have to get the kids outta bed in 10 minutes. :)

I didn't have time to play with the current Sweet Sunday Sketch so I figured I would give it a try for this card - combining it with the combo from Dynamic Duos and the new TAWS set, Spell Check, created a fun thank you card:

Thanks for stopping by today - if the Internet Gods are willing, I will be back tomorrow with a new BE Inspired challenge...see you then!

{SSSC195} & {PPA175}

Welcome back, everyone! It is a glorious Thanksgiving long weekend here in Canada and let me just tell you how much I love this time of year.  It truly is a glorious sight to watch all the leaves change color and drop from the trees - the fact that the white stuff is coming is quietly forgotten.  ;)

If you have a few extra minutes over the next two weeks, I would encourage you to play along with the new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Karen has given us a totally CAS sketch that wouldn't take long at all to whip up a card for.  My card took me less than 20 minutes and only that long because I couldn't decide which leaf I wanted to use.  ;)  Take a peek:

I was totally in the fall-mood so when I found this week's Pals Paper Arts color combo, I knew I had to make use of it:

I dug out one of my old Verve favorites, Tall Oaks, and used one of the sentiments:
