4CCC-149 {Dry Embossing} & Mojo300 & Fusion 13

Happy Independence Day to all my wonderful American friends!  I'm sure you will all be busy celebrating today so when you are all finished with that, I hope you will join us for a brand new 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge.  This week Leanne is our hostess-with-the-mostest and she's got an EASY one for us all this week: Dry Embossing.  Use a stencil, embossing folder or whatever else you've got that you can dry emboss with.  I know most of you have a bunch of embossing folders so get 'em out and use them!

For my card I used a couple different folders - a fantastic woodgrain one from Stampin' UP! that I used on the birdhouse and the big flag and then a leafy branch one on the white layer.  I thought it was kind of like the trunk of the tree and the branches/leaves that a birdhouse would hang from.  The stamps are from two different TAWS sets, Tag-alongs and Bird Brain:

The sketch is this week's Mojo Monday sketch - celebrating 300 sketches!!  Wow...I can hardly believe Julee has been blessing us with fabulous sketches for so long - thanks, Julee.  :)

And the card was inspired by this week's Fusion Card Challenge Inspiration picture - the colors of the birds and the bird theme:

Thanks for stopping by today - enjoy the day and upcoming weekend!  We're heading out to visit my parents for some much-needed R&R...see you next week!

4CCC-143 {Critters} and Fusion #7

Welcome back, friends! Thanks for taking a few minutes to stop by and see what I've got for you today.  This week's hostess-with-the-mostest over at the 4 Crafty Chicks is none other than my amazing friend, Lori, who did an AMAZING job at her first 10K of the year this past Sunday...she bested last year's time by more than 6 minutes!!!!  So proud of her!  Anyhow - she's giving us a fun challenge this week - she wants to see some "critters."  You know... bugs, birds, dogs, cats and the list goes on and on.  It's up to you how you incorporate the theme in your creation.

For my card, I wanted to go CAS again (there are just not enough hours in a day anymore...) and found a fabulous sketch over at the Fusion Card ChallengeThe last time I played along, I only used the inspiration photo and this time I only used the sketch!  Maybe next time I will go with the FUSION...?  No specific color scheme, I just love this Authentique paper pad, "Carefree."

The sentiments are from two different TAWS sets: Wings of HOPE and Words to live by.  I love how versatile the TAWS sets are...mixing and matching is awesome!

That's all from me for today but I'll be back tomorrow with a brand new BE Inspired Challenge!  See you then!

SSSC184 & Fusion #6

Happy Mother's Day to all you amazing moms out there!!!  I hope each and every one of you are being treated like queens today - not that you shouldn't be treated like that EVERY day, but today is especially important.  :)  I'm not sure what my family has planned for the day - I would love to just sit in the sun and read all day so we'll see if that happens.

Today we've got a brand new Sweet Sunday Sketch for you and I really love this one (I know.  I say that EVERY week....)  Karen has created a fun CAS sketch but you could certainly make it *floofy* if you wanted to:

I got back to my old tricks with this one - the image I wanted to use wasn't really big enough to fill the circular panel in the center so I switched it up a bit... made a square card and used the sketch as the panel on it.  Take a peek:

The color combo is from a fabulous new challenge I found, Fusion Card Challenge.  Each week they give you a sketch and an inspiration photo and you decide if you are going to use the sketch, the inspiration photo or BOTH together when you make your card.  Totally fun, right?  Here's this week's challenge graphic:

As you can tell, I decided to go with the inspiration photo for my card - especially since I already had an amazing sketch to work with. ;)

Okie dokie, need some more inspiration?  All of the fabulous Sweet Sunday Stampers have inspiration for you, so please stop by and say hello to:

... and this week's amazingly funny, talented, crazy, super-awesome guest Sweet Stamper, Jenny Peterson.  I have the pleasure of living only 25 minutes from Jenny and she is just as sweet in person as she is on her blog.  Wild and a bit crazy...OK, a lot crazy... but one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

OK - enjoy your day and I hope the week ahead is a great one for you.  LONG weekend coming up - can't wait!
