A Thursday Three-'fer!

Welcome back everyone!  If you are here looking for my 4 Crafty Chicks post, please scroll down (but feel free to peruse this post as you scroll... :)  So, I had some free time this afternoon before heading off to the gym and was itching to get inky...and what does that mean?  A new card for y'all to check out!  :)

I started out wanting to play along with Alma and the gals over at The Cat's Pajamas blog, Dancing in Pajamas, for the new TCP Tuesday challenge: "Use any stamps from The Cat's Pajamas to wish someone good luck or for St. Patrick's Day." Hmmmm... how am I going to make *that* work?  None of my TCP stamps really fit for this challenge so I had to get very *creative* with my "Got Love" set.

Once I knew which stamps I was going to use, I went in search of a color combo and a sketch that I could use to make this little card come to life and found the perfect color combo over at Stampin' Royalty and the sketch is from the My Favorite Things forum at Splitcoast:

I wasn't able to use a sentiment from any of my TCP sets but the PERFECT one was in my 4-Leaf Clover Pure Innocence set from MFT... how special is that?  I tried to make the card a bit more St. Patrick's-y by attempting my own 4-leaf clover to cover up the flowers in his left hand but I'm not entirely thrilled with how it turned out...

Stamps: Got Love (TCP), 4-Leaf Clover (MFT)  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Sahara Sand  Paper: Sahara Sand, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Whisper White, various SU! DSP  Accessories: Nesties, buttons, baker's twine, paper piercer, sponge dauber, clear embossing powder, Floral Fusion Sizzlit

So, there you have it!  Another fun card using a few of the amazing challenges out there in Blogland.  Thanks for stopping by today - tomorrow's FRIDAY!!!  WOOHOO!!!  Are you as excited as I am?  Hopefully I'll have some time to play tomorrow...stay tuned!  Later...

Anything Goes at Sentimental Sundays!

Hi everyone - are you enjoying your weekend?  It has been a snowy, blowy weekend here so I've been hunkering down and enjoying not having to go anywhere.  I did manage to get some crafting done, though...  :)  This week's challenge over at Sentimental Sundays is one EVERYONE can participate in - "Anything Goes!"  Just make a card (or two) and don't forget your sentiment!!

I combined this challenge with the Play Date Cafe's color combo - a bright, springy one this week...I love it!

I also used the Stampin' Royalty sketch as my jumping off point but as my card evolved, it ended up being *slightly* different than the sketch:

Stamps: Ewe Complete Me (TCP)  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black  Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, various DSP scraps  Accessories: Buttons, sheer ribbon, scallop oval punch, oval punch, sewing machine, Seeing Spots embossing folder

As always, thanks for stopping by - it's always so much fun to read your comments and see where you're all visiting from.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend - see you tomorrow!

A Monday "For Fun" Card

Hi again, everyone!  I am staying warm and cozy inside today - the snow and wind and cold don't seem to want to stop and the kids have a Snow Day so I figured what better to do than make a card???  I know you're all in agreement, right?

So, I've been looking at the Color Throwdown's combo since I caught the sneak peek last week on Facebook but just haven't had the chance to use it...until now...  :)
I'm sure glad I didn't throw away all my *old* colors.  I've also had Jen's Sketch For You To Try sitting on my desktop since she posted it but really wanted to be able to use my Cat's Pajamas stamps and *that* opportunity didn't present itself... until now.  I also want to say how much I LOVE that Jen has gone to a monthly sketch because it gives me more time to play along.

Stamps: Birthday Bunny (TCP)  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze, Cameo Coral  Paper: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, SU! DSP  Accessories: Seeing Spots embossing folder, paper piercer, twine, button, Modern Label punch, Labels Four Nestabilities, sponge dauber, Copics

Here's a pic of the Copics I used - the ones you can't read are BG93 and R22:

And, like my card earlier this morning, Stampin' Royalty is having a birthday so their theme is birthday cards and this one fits the bill perfectly.  :)  Thanks for stopping by - enjoy your Monday!

PPC #45

Happy Monday, everyone!  Wow - have we ever got a LOT of snow this weekend...I stayed home all warm and toasty but my DH wasn't so lucky.  He *had* to go out but getting *out* wasn't the problem... it was trying to get back IN after MORE snow and wind made some pretty horrendous drifts on our LONG country driveway.  He ended up getting stuck on his way back in - no WAY would I even be attempting to go anywhere!  LOL  It gave me the perfect excuse to stay inside and CRAFT!

This week Megan has given us an interesting combination over at the Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge - what do you think?

I started out following Tracy's sketch over at Eat, Sleep, Stamp *to-the-letter* but as it evolved, it didn't end up *exactly* like the sketch - my white panel is not centered, my image isn't centered and I rotated it 180 degrees:

The girlies over at Stampin' Royalty are celebrating their first birthday this week (has it really been a year already?) so they have asked us to make a birthday card so that's exactly what I did:

Stamps: Upsy Daisy (SU!)  Ink: Perfect Plum, Bravo Burgundy  Paper: Perfect Plum, Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi  Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Square Lattice embossing folder, River Rock grosgrain ribbon, twine, scallop oval punch, oval punch

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope the weather is better than ours wherever you are.  If you're snowed in, look on the bright side...it's PERFECT for crafting.  :)  We'd love to have you join us over at PPC.

Enjoy your week!

Oh, How I LOVE Kraftin' Kimmie...

I absolutely ADORE the Moonlight Whispers stamps.  Annie Rodrigue is a freakin' GENIUS and so is Kimmie for turning the art into stamps!  I recently acquired the Batty Princess stamp and knew I HAD to use it for this week's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge to make a "spooky" card.  Perfect.  And to kill two birds with one stone, it's a spooky card challenge over at Stampin' Royalty too!

I knew I'd likely have to make a square card because the image is almost too big for a regular card so I was THRILLED when I found Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch - it is a square AND the main image panel is rather large.  Unfortunately, the image is *still* a bit too big so I had to improvise and have it hang over the edge a bit:

Recipe - Stamps: Batty Princess (Kraftin' Kimmie)  Ink: Onyx Black Versafine  Paper: Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, polka dot paper (Daisy D's), black bat paper (Cosmo Cricket)  Accessories: Black satin ribbon, paper piercer, Spiral Edge punch, Modern Label punch, twine, Copics, dimensionals, Scor-Tape

I wish I had a better camera because I don't think this picture really does the card justice - the colors are so much more vivid in real life.  I had a TON of fun coloring this girl... and she has wings so I have accomplished the City Crafter Challenge Blog to create a card that has wings on it.

That's it for me tonight - don't forget to check back tomorrow morning for a new 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge!  Later peeps!

Picture Perfect Creations #31 & Our Creative Corner

Well...talk about a challenge!  Megan is giving us a very, shall we say, interesting, color combination over at the Picture Perfect Creations Color Combination challenge:

I love all of these colors but the two that gave me the most trouble were the Rose Red and the Riding Hood Red.  I went in search of a sketch that might help me make sense of this combo and found that Our Creative Corner has a nice one for us this week:

So- off I went... I filed two cards under "G" before I finally settled on this one:

Recipe - Stamps: Thankful Accents (Verve)  Ink: Rose Red  Paper: Whisper White, Perfect Plum, River Rock, Riding Hood Red, unknown pattern paper  Accessories: Satin Ribbon, sewing machine, paper piercer, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Seeing Spots EF, circle and scallop punch, adhesive pearls

And, again, I used stitching to attach the ribbon so it qualifies for Stampin' Royalty's "Stitching" challenge this week.

I hope you will take some time to stop and see what the rest of the PPC Creators did with these colors - their links are to the left in the sidebar.  Have fun and good luck!  LOL

Polka Dot Party at The Shabby Tea Room

Polka dots?  I LOVE polka dots!  Who doesn't love a good polka dot print?  And you all know how much I love my Swiss Dots...  This week's inspiration picture over at The Shabby Tea Room comes to us from Debbie:

Don't you just love all those polkie-dots?  And that ribbon?  Yummy!   I wanted to use pink and white but knew I'd have to throw one more color in there ~ two colors is NOT enough!  So, out came my new favorite neutral, Basic Grey, and with the sketch from Stampin' Royalty to guide me...

... I did this:

Recipe - Stamps: Psalm 121:1-2 (Verve)  Paper: Whisper White, Basic Grey, Pretty in Pink, SU! DP  Ink: Basic Grey  Accessories: Spots & Dots embossing folder, paper piercer, adhesive pearls, Marvy corner punch, felt leaves, crocheted flower, button, hemp twine

You all know how hard it is for me to do CAS and I think this card comes as close to CAS as I can get.  I've tried "cleaner" and "simpler" but can't get the hang of it... I just love my layers and embellies!

If you have some time, make sure to stop and see what the rest of the Special Friend Blend Design team have come up with:

 Debbie Marcinkiewicz - {TSTR Creator} - Simple Treasures
Audrey Pettit - Audrey Pettit's Weblog
Jill Hilliard - Jill's Card Creations
Nicole Segnere - My Craft Room Creations

Thanks for stopping by - see you later!

I Got New Goodies To Play With!

YIPPEE!!!  Last week, Lori and I FINALLY ordered some of the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps we had both been eyeing for awhile...they arrived at Lori's yesterday and she dropped them off this morning on her way to town!  I had to finish the first card before I could play with the new stamps but they got inky as soon as I was done.  :)

I said I was going to do Arielle's Colour Q Challenge next so that's just what I did:

I also *very loosely* used Stampin' Royalty's sketch from their challenge this week.  My image is NOT circular and it is MUCH bigger than that so please accept my apologies, SR Goddesses! LOL

Voila!

The first one I used is Alicia the Strawberry Pirate - isn't she so super cute?  I didn't use very much Apricot Appeal but it *is* there in her dress...promise.  :)  I LOVE these stamps - I have four other Moonlight Whispers images to use so we'll see if I can incorporate them into a card soon (more pirates...YAY!)

That's it for now - I'm going to try the Color Throwdown colors next:
'til then...happy crafting!

Going Green!

Well, this one was harder than I thought it would be.  It took me a LONG time to get the flower *just right* and I'm still not happy with it.  I guess this is one of those "practice makes perfect" situations.  :)

I made this card for four challenges:
I still had some Wasabi cardstock and paper out on my desk so I paired it with Handsome Hunter, Whisper White and some black, white & silver accents to create this:

Will I have time for one more?  Anything's possible... :)  Later peeps!

It's Gonna Be a BUSY Day

It seems like Wednesday is the busiest day for the new week's challenges to be posted so if I don't get stated right away, I tend to *not* get them done at all.

There were four color challenges posted this morning so I *had* to find some sketches for each of them.  The first color challenge I decided to tackle was from Stampin' Royalty - what a combination.  People must be getting tired of winter because a lot of the color challenges lately have been using some bright combinations and this is no exception:

My craftin' peep, Lori, used this sketch from Sketch Saturday to make a very lovely card so I thought I'd give 'er a whirl too:

There have also been a lot of square cards... I made mine 5" x 5".

Recipe - Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Small Sayings  Paper: Whisper White, Only Orange, Summer Sun, Green Galore, Pixie Pink, unknown DP  Ink: Summer Sun, Pixie Pink  Accessories: Nestabilities, paper piercer, paper flowers, brads, modern label punch, ribbon sliders, ribbon, Swiss Dots EF, Victoria EF

Thanks for stopping by - please check back in a bit for the next installment of my Hump Day Crafting Marathon!

I Can't Promise That This is the Last One...

One more.  This card is for a new challenge blog I found - Stampin' Royalty where this week's challenge is a color challenge:

And the sketch is another one of Verve's release party challenges over at Splitcoast:

I wasn't sure about the color combo but I *think* I made it work in the end.  This is the card closed up:

And "easeled":

Recipe - Stamp: Philippians 4:4 (Verve)  Ink: Rich Razzleberry  Paper: Pale Plum, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant  Accessories: Corner rounder, white taffeta ribbon, RR polka dot grosgrain ribbon, brads, Nestabilities, Slot Punch, paper piercer, Moroccan Screen EF, Swirls EF, Swiss Dots EF, Martha Stewart border punch, white gel pen, paper flowers

K - Going to get supper ready... maybe.  We've been without water all day but DH should be home soon to fix it.  Oh the joys of living in the country... *sigh*  See y'all later!
