PPC #33 and TWO Celebrations!!!

Oh MY GOODNESS!!!  This week's Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo screams "fun" and I immediately knew I wanted to ink up one of my Kraftin' Kimmie's that has never seen ink...(I'm sure none of you have stamps like that, right?  *wink*)

So, imagine my surprise when I clicked over to the Kraftin' Kimmie blog and discovered that they are CELEBRATING their one year ANNIVERSARY with a fun blog hop and this week's challenge is to create a "celebration" card!  How fun!  So, alright...I've got the colors, the theme, the stamp...all that's missing is the sketch.  So, off I went to the Just Us Girls challenge blog and, lo and behold, they TOO are celebrating their one year anniversary!   Both blogs even have prizes to make the party more fun so if you have time, make sure you stop by to play along.  Anyhoo...the JUGS girls have a sketch for us this week:

Once I got started, I realized that my image was a bit too big to make a regular size card so I went with a 5-1/4" square instead:

Stamps: Goldilocks (Kraftin' Kimmie)  Ink: Garden Green  Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, various SU! DSP  Accessories: Sewing machine, Copics, Optic Dot border punch, adhesive pearls, So Saffron striped ribbon, Twizzle embossing folder, button, hemp twine, Lots of Tags Label One Sizzlit, dimensionals

I figured that the sentiment was pretty versatile and could celebrate many different occasions - a birthday, an anniversary, friendship or even a get well soon or thinking of you...  Isn't she adorable?

I hope you will play along with us over at Picture Perfect Creations - we always love to see how you interpret the colors and make them your own.  :)  If you have time, check out the other PPC Creators' blogs to see what they made using these colors.

Enjoy your Monday - see you again soon!

Picture Perfect Creations #31 & Our Creative Corner

Well...talk about a challenge!  Megan is giving us a very, shall we say, interesting, color combination over at the Picture Perfect Creations Color Combination challenge:

I love all of these colors but the two that gave me the most trouble were the Rose Red and the Riding Hood Red.  I went in search of a sketch that might help me make sense of this combo and found that Our Creative Corner has a nice one for us this week:

So- off I went... I filed two cards under "G" before I finally settled on this one:

Recipe - Stamps: Thankful Accents (Verve)  Ink: Rose Red  Paper: Whisper White, Perfect Plum, River Rock, Riding Hood Red, unknown pattern paper  Accessories: Satin Ribbon, sewing machine, paper piercer, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Seeing Spots EF, circle and scallop punch, adhesive pearls

And, again, I used stitching to attach the ribbon so it qualifies for Stampin' Royalty's "Stitching" challenge this week.

I hope you will take some time to stop and see what the rest of the PPC Creators did with these colors - their links are to the left in the sidebar.  Have fun and good luck!  LOL

Bugaboo Stamps in The Shabby Tea Room!

Welcome back everyone!

I'm so excited this week because Bugaboo Stamps is our sponsor in The Shabby Tea Room!  I LOVE the images Jodi has designed - they are ALL super-cute and appeal to a wide range of stampers and this week's winner will receive seven digi images of their choice!  How exciting is that?

This week's theme in the Tea Room is, "Tag! You're It!" - create a card or project with a tag.  Easy peasy, right?  :)  When I picked my image from Bugaboo I had this week's Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge in mind:

Don't you just love the new Stampin' Up colors?  These ones are so fun and summery.  I'm trying to hold onto the summer as long as I can - the air is starting to feel awfully "crisp" in the morning.  Mercy's Tuesday Sketch was the perfect inspiration for this week's card - I made a few minor alterations....

Recipe - Stamp: Flower Bear ~Sunflower (Bugaboo digi images), Tiny Tags (SU!)  Ink: Onyx Black Versafine, Marina Mist, Peach Parfait  Paper: Peach Parfait, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, SU! DSP  Accessories: Paper piercer, Copics, jewelry tag punch, brad, MS Optic Dot border punch, Argyle embossing folder, Seeing Spots embossing folder

Sugar and Spice...

Hello - I'm so glad you stopped by!  This week's color challenge over at Picture Perfect Creations is a beautiful one and you could use it for many different types of cards - I'm lovin' the new Concord Crush:

This week's challenge from the girls at Totally Stampalicious is to use at least two different textures on your card (ex: dry emboss, heat emboss, fabric, ribbon, flock etc.).  I thought I'd use Desiree Lollipop again so I went in search of a sketch that would fit and found this simple one from 2 Sketches 4 You:

Recipe - Stamp: Desiree Lollipop (Totally Stampalicious)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Concord Crush  Paper: Very Vanilla, Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi, SU! DSP  Accessories: Paper piercer, Copics, Very Vanilla satin ribbon, adhesive pearls, Elegant Bouquet embossing folder, Swiss Dots embossing folder

If you'd like to see more of these colors, hop over to see what the rest of the PPC Creators did:

I'm sure the gals at Totally Stampalicious have created some amazing textured cards so make sure you stop there too!

See you later!

Friends Are Like Flowers in the Garden of Life

Hey everyone!

Welcome back for another Picture Perfect Creations Color Combination and a new challenge from The Shabby Tea Room.  This week's colors from Megan include my {oh-so-favorite} Pacific Point. *insert eye roll here*  I'm trying to love it, really I am...

Our challenge at TSTR is to use roses somewhere in our project and our sponsor this week is Squigglefly.  They have some fab digital images and the sentiment I used on my card is one from their collection.

Squigglefly Digital Stamps

I love the simplicity of this week's sketch at There She Goes stamps:

Stamp: Digi sentiment from Squigglefly  Paper: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Poppy Parade, SU! DSP  Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Whisper White organza ribbon, Nestabilities, paper piercer, Pretty Pin Embellishment

I FINALLY got to use the Pretty Pin Embellishment that I received a bit too late to use the week they were our sponsor at PPC.  It is sooooo pretty and matches the Poppy color perfectly.

Make sure you stop by and see what the rest of the Shabby Girls created for this week's challenge...

The Dreaded One Layer Card. . . ACK!

Welcome back, everyone!

I have said it before and I'm going to say it again ~ I LOVE LAYERS!  Lotsandlotsandlots of yummy layers and lotsandlotsandlots of embellishments on my cards.  So, this week's challenge over at Totally Stampalicious to make a one layer card with minimal embellishments was like a stake through my crafty heart.  Luckily I had a wonderful Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo from Megan to help me through the moments of self-doubt:

When I think of CAS or one layer cards, I immediately click over to the clean&simple stamping challenge blog for one of their fabulous sketches so that's the first place I clicked over to when I was getting started - I found this:

Hmmmm... not an easy sketch to use with the Totally Stampalicious stamps I have.  I finally decided that Cafe Scarlette would definitely work if I could figure out how to get her into those little circles. . .  After much thought and experimenting, I decided to make a template/mask that I could stamp through to get the specific {parts} of Scarlette into the circles.  So I cut out a scrap piece of cardstock, figured out where the circles should go, used my 1-3/8" circle punch to punch them out and ended up with something like this:

I placed it over my card base and started by tracing some doodles around the outside/inside edge of each circle.  I stamped Scarlette's shoes, purse and Scarlette enjoying a {sippie} in the circles and then stamped the sentiment below.  I added some buttons and ribbon and called it done.  To me, it still looks unfinished ~ I really wanted to add {something} else but decided not to at risk of ruining it all.  That's the nice thing about a multi-layer card...you have lots of chances to correct your screw-ups!

Stamps: Cafe Scarlette (Totally Stampalicious)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper: Whisper White  Accessories: Copics, fine-tipped black marker, purple satin ribbon, buttons

Another Totally Stampalicious - Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge Two-'fer

Welcome, welcome, welcome!   I'm back with another groovy color combo from Megan over at Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge - don't you love the bright colors?  As many of you know, Pacific Point is NOT one of my faves, but I continue to {try} to love it...

This week over at Totally Stampalicious is a very SPECIAL one - not only do we have a great challenge for you but we are this week's sponsor over at Jen's Sketch For You To Try!!!  In honor of such a fabulous match, I decided to use Jen's sketch for the TS challenge, "Inside and Out!  Decorate the inside of you card as well as the outside."

I very rarely decorate the inside of my cards but I've decided I should do it more often because it really {does} add that little bit of "oomph!"   For this one, I chose to do an easel card to incorporate the inside decoration:

Stamps: Birthday Kids (Totally Stampalicious)  Paper: Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Whisper White, Pacific Point, SU! DSP  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Accessories: Nestabilities, Houndstooth embossing folder, buttons, twine, scallop edge punch, Copics, Copic Spica atyou glitter pens

If you 'd like to see more of these colors, hop over to see what the rest of the PPC Creators did:

And if you decide to play along with us over at Totally Stampalicious, don't forget to stop back and link us up so we can come and see what you did.

From the Garden with TSTR and PPC

Welcome back for another fabulous week at The Shabby Tea Room and Picture Perfect Creations.  Awhile ago, I found this AMAZING wreath at Blooming Couture and HAD to use it as the inspiration photo for this week's TSTR challenge: "From the Garden."  Use the colors, flowers, the shapes... whatever inspires you.

This week's sponsor in the Tea Room is Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Stamps and you will LOVE their selection of amazing digi stamps as well as some clear stamps.

I originally thought I would use the colors in the wreath for my card but once I saw this week's Picture Perfect Creations combo, I decided to give it a try and see what I could do with them:

I will admit that the Cajun Craze threw me off a bit but, in the end, it was the Regal Rose that I had trouble with and used it very sparingly on the bows and as a button flower:

Recipe - Stamp: Precious Baby (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps)  Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze, SU! DSP  Accessories: Copics, paper piercer, RR polka dot grosgrain ribbon, buttons, Swiss Dots EF

Make sure you stop by and see what the rest of the Shabby Girls created for the "From the Garden" challenge...

Debbie Marcinkiewicz - {TSTR Creator} - Simple Treasures

Audrey Pettit - Audrey Pettit's Weblog

Cathy Clark - Papier Girl

Lisa Golzbein - Oh So Cute By Lisa

Nicole Segnere - My Craft Room Creations

... and then pop over to see what the rest of the PPC Creators did with the colors...

I am amazed at how quickly the summer is going - the middle of July already?  I hope you are enjoying your summer wherever you are!  See you next week!

PPC #21 & SSSC #77

Hello again!

This week's challenge over at Picture Perfect Creations gives us three of the new SU! color renovation colors - and, sadly, I don't have any of them yet.  BUT - lucky for me - I have a SUPERFABULOUS friend who DOES have these colors and she gave me a sheet of each to work with.  I really only needed two of the colors since the Crumb Cake is very close to Kraft so I just used some of that...

Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge is a bit of a different shape this week - start with a 6.5" square piece of cardstock and fold it in half... that's your card base.  It didn't really leave me much room for a huge image so I decided to pull out my Elegant Trio Stencil Set from SU!'s Definitely Decorative line...

Recipe - Stamps: Celebrate You (Verve)  Paper: Kraft, Pretty in Pink, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Whisper White, SU! DSP (Tea Party)  Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red  Accessories: Paper piercer, sponge dauber, Elegant Trio Stencil Set, Pretty in Pink striped grosgrain ribbon, buttons, EK Success border punch (Parisian)

I used a clear button on my bow so this card also qualifies for Sentimental Sundays' challenge to use a clear element on our creation.

I hope you give this week's color combo a try - don't worry if you don't have the exact colors!  Just use whatever you have on hand that is close and if you need some more inspiration, please visit the rest of the PPC Creators' blogs to see what they did:

Have a great Monday - see you soon!

Challenge #19 at Picture Perfect Creations

Here we are again!  Time for another Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge and Megan has come up with another awesome combination.

Have I said how THRILLED I am that Riding Hood Red is coming back???  Now I don't have to hoard my RHR supplies!  :o)  I also {heart} the new Daffodil Delight that SU! is bringing in.  Lucky for me, my "enabler", Lori, has her pre-order and gave me a sheet of CS to play with for this challenge:

Our sponsor this week at PPC-CC is Pretty Pin Embellishments by Lisa G.

Winner will receive a 6-pack of Pretty Pin Embellishments!

I used Melissa Craig's Tuesday Morning Sketch:

And voila!  (Rotated, of course... I'm not sure I remember how to use a sketch the way it is given to me!  LOL)

Recipe - Stamps: 1 Chronicles 16:3 (Verve Plain Jane) Paper: Riding Hood Red, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Origins DP (Basic Grey)  Ink: Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red  Accessories: Paper flowers, buttons, twine, Nesties, sponge dauber, paper piercer, Soft Suede grosgrain ribbon, Victoria embossing folder
