4CCC-147 {Sentiment Only} & DD57 & FTL245

It's Thursday again and you all know what that means - a brand new 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge!  This week's challenge is being hosted by Tamie and she wants you to use ONLY a SENTIMENT on your card...nothing else.  Really make the sentiment the focus...I always love how these cards look.

For my card, I wanted to have a bit of fun with one of my Alley Way Stamps sets, Good Point.  All of the directional words are so cool and when you put them together, they are even better!  I combined the colors from Dynamic Duos and the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping to make my card:

Isn't the arrow fun?  Normally, I make this kind of card open at the bottom but changed it up to make the sentiment work.  :)

I hope you will join us for this one - have fun!  If you need more inspiration, don't forget to stop in and see what the other Chicks created.  See you tomorrow!

BE Inspired #21 at TAWS

Hey there Crafty Peeps! It's time for a brand new Be Inspired challenge over at The Alley Way Stamps blog.  With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, we've got this fun little photo to get your creative juices flowing...

For my card, I went with the colors (red, white and vanilla) and the Valentine's theme.  The sentiment is from my new favorite TAWS set, "All About YOU:"

The sketch is from Clean & Simple Stamping:

Let's see what you've got!  I hope you can join us for this fun challenge!  See you Sunday with a new Sweet Sunday Sketch!

4CCC-108 {Leaves}

Welcome back, crafty peeps! It's Thursday and that can only mean one thing... A brand new 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge!!!  This week, Tamie is our hostess-with-the-mostest and, with fall in full swing in many parts of the northern hemisphere, she wants to see some LEAVES.  That should be pretty easy...use die cuts, patterned paper, embossing folders...so many ways to incorporate leaves into your creations.

For my card, I used a fun color combo from the girls over at the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog along with a Clean & Simple Stamping sketch:

Thanks for popping in today - I'm heading off to Banff for the weekend with my PIC, Lori, and her sister, Jackie, to run a 10K race.  If the truth be told, I am mostly looking forward to just *getting away* and hanging with the girls... the race is simply a good excuse.  :)  Later, gators!!

Get Inspired By the 4 Crafty Chicks!

Hi everyone!  It's time for another 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge and this week's challenge is from our very own, fabulous Lori!  She discovered this lovely picture on the web and wants you to use it as inspiration for your creation this week:

I decided to go with the obvious color combo of black and white with a pop of red as well as being inspired by the big, red blooms in the vase on the coffee table.  I used a sketch from Clean  & Simple Stamping from a few weeks ago but made a couple minor tweaks to make it my own:

I hope you will have time to play along with us this week.  Please remember to let us know what about the photo inspired you - we love to see everyone's interpretations.  Have fun!

Love Is In The Air...

Hello again!  Are you surprised to see two posts from me in one day?  I'm almost as shocked as you are!  I have had a pretty busy week thus far so I decided to take a rest day from the gym and stayed home to play in my craft room.

So...it's February and that means Valentine's Day is right around the corner.  Do you do something special with your family for V-Day?  Or is it mostly for you and your significant other?  I must admit that over the years, between kids and work and other *stuff*, we haven't really made V-Day a couples day - it's been mostly a family affair.  Not sure what we're going to do this year... we'll see. :)

I haven't played with the gang over at Pals Paper Arts for a LONG time so when I saw their color challenge this morning, I JUMPED on it - you know me and a color challenge... I saw this sketch last week over at Clean&Simple Stamping and knew I *had* to use it ASAP.  It is a sketch that I will use over and over again:

Stamps: You and I (Verve)  Paper: Yours Truly (Echo Park), Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black  Accessories: Tipsy Hearts die (Sizzix), buttons, Divine Twine (TCP), sewing machine, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today - enjoy your Thursday!

Ready for a Recipe Challenge?

Hey everyone!  Thanks for stopping by for another 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge.  The weather here in Central Alberta has been unseasonably warm the last few weeks but next week's forecast is not looking very nice so I am enjoying the warmth while I can.  :)

I'm the hostess for this week's 4CCC and I've got a recipe challenge for you: 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 layers.  Shouldn't be too difficult - we all love ribbon, buttons and layers, right?

This week's challenge over at There She Goes is paper piecing and, lucky for me, I was able to combine these two challenges.  I also used the CR84FN Color Challenge and a Clean & Simple Stamping sketch:

Stamps: World's Best, Warmest Wishes (TSG)  Paper: Picadilly (BG), Marina Mist, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie  Ink: So Saffron, Marina Mist  Accessorie-s: Sewing machine, buttons, Daffodil Delight satin ribbon, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Nesties, twine

Thanks for stopping by today - have fun with this challenge!  See you soon!

Paper Piercing at the 4 Crafty Chicks

Welcome back for another week of 4 Crafty Chicks fun.  I hope you had fun playing with Tamie's marker challenge last week - this week's hostess-with-the-mostest is Lori and she is challenging us all to do some paper piercing on our cards.  I LOVE to paper pierce - I'm sure you already know that!  It really adds a little bit of interest to an otherwise bland card.

For my card, I used last week's TCP Tuesday challenge - it was an inspiration challenge that I found to be a bit difficult:

Hmmm...rock and roll?  I finally decided to go with the colors in the graphic and I took a cue from the whole *music* idea when I chose my papers and stamps.  I loosely based my card on this sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping and paper-pieced Skating Sprinkle as well as the mittens hanging on the twine:

Stamps: I used two older Cat's Pajamas sets - one is called Polar Holiday but I have no idea what the other one is!  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper: Christmas Home (Teresa Collins), Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Basic Black  Accessories: Snowflakes embossing folder, Nesties Labels Seventeen, Ticket Strip die (MFT), button, twine, Big Scallop Cut-Up die (TCP), paper piercer

I hope you will play along with us this week - we love it when you do!  See you soon!

It's Beginning to Look Like Fall...

*If you are looking for Day Three of the There She Goes Sneak Peeks, please scroll down!  Thanks!*

...and I am LOVING it!  This is my favorite time of the year - the leaves , the smells, the sounds...delightful!  This week's challenge over at the 4 Crafty Chicks is all about fall so let's see what you create with the most wonderful time of the year as your inspiration.  And the 4CC aren't the only ones looking for fall...TCP Tuesday's challenge last week was an inspiration challenge using this photo:

For my card, I wanted to use the colors of fall but make them a bit softer so I found an old Basic Grey paper pad I thought would work.  I set off in search of a sketch and found one from a couple of weeks ago over at Clean & Simple Stamping:

Of course, I couldn't just *leave it alone* and make it the way they have it... I made mine horizontal instead of vertical:

Stamps: Wheel Love (TCP)  Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Curio DSP (Basic Grey)  Ink: Early Espresso  Accessories: Paper piercer, sponge dauber, Rosette Sunflower die (TCP), buttons, twine, Little Leaves Sizzlit

I hope you will take a few minutes to play along with us this week - let fall inspire you.  Enjoy your week!

Have we got a treat for you today - not ONLY do we have a FUN Hallowe'en set, we have....wait for it...wait for it... our VERY FIRST die to show you!!!!  Are you as excited as I am???  I was trembling with fear I wouldn't get mine in time to make my card but, thank the heavens above, they were in my mailbox this afternoon.  Unfortunately, that didn't give me a whole lotta time to make my card - but it is what it is.  :)

I needed a quick and easy sketch so I popped over to clean & simple stamping to see what their sketch for this week looked like - PERFECT:

I didn't step too far out of my box for a color scheme this time - the stereotypical black, white, and orange worked just fine, thank you very much.  :)  And see that fabulous spider web border?  That's our new die!!!!  Isn't is super-duper amazing???

Stamps: Bugs and Hisses  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, unknown DSP  Accessories: Spider Web border die, paper piercer, sponge dauber, Spider Web embossing folder, buttons, twine

How did you like that peek?  If you want to see more, here's the Blog Hop Challenge list - remember, the more you comment, the better your chances of winning are!  Off you go to Melyssa's blog!!!  See you tomorrow for our last day of sneak peeks.

And They Lived Happily Ever After...

Welcome to another fabulous Thursday - you all know what that means, right?  An amazing 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge.  This week's hostess is Tamie and she wants to see projects with a wedding theme.  There are so many possibilities for this challenge - scrapbook pages, cards, wedding gifts... have fun with it!

For my card, I combined Arielle's Colour Q #88 with a Clean & Simple Stamping sketch from last month:

Here's my attempt at CAS... I'm trying really hard to embrace this style because, let's be honest, cards come together in NO time at all!!!  LOL

Stamps: Happily Ever After (Darcie's)  Ink: Early Espresso  Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Kraft, Cherry Cobbler, SU! DSP  Accessories: Heart Tag Sizzlit, sewing machine, Scallop Edge border punch, corner rounder, Victoria EF, Perfect Polka Dots EF, sponge dauber

Enjoy the rest of your week - I hope you will have some time to play along with us this week!  See you soon!
