Kraftin' Kimmie Guest Designer & CQC241 & SSSC219

Good morning, everyone!  Remember WAYYYYYY back in January/February when I was in the running for a Guest Designer spot over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps?  Well, I was lucky enough to win one of the spots for the month of May and this is my FIRST post!!!  :)  The upcoming new release is amazing - I know you're going to love it...but for now, you get to see a card using one of the older sets, Perfect Poison.

It is also the time of the week for a brand new Colour Q challenge and this week's combo sure had me scratching my head...metallics are not a usual "go-to" color for me:

I also used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch but made mine a square instead of the rectangular size in order to fit the image:

I hope you will play along with us over at the Colour Q Challenge as well as the Kraftin' Kimmie Anything Goes challenge!  We'd love to see your creations!  I will be back on Saturday with another Kraftin' Kimmie post - see you then!

{CQC240} & {RS113} . . . Another Birthday Card :)

Hi everyone! Happy May!!! It sure didn't seem like May on the weekend here in central Alberta - Mother Nature thought she'd give us another taste of winter... woke up to snow on Saturday morning and, let me tell you, I was not a happy camper. ;)  Thankfully, it has mostly all melted but that means more mud...ugh.

Enough of my moaning and groaning, you came to see a new Colour Q combo, didn't you?  This week's inspiration is a lovely, little teacup...perfect for afternoon tea parties:

I used this week's Retrosketches for my quick and CAS card that uses images from one of my favorite Verve sets, Hope Blooms:

Yes, I know it's ANOTHER birthday card... you're going to be seeing a lot of those in the coming weeks!  ;)  Anyhow, that's just about it for me - I will see you next week!

Birthday Wishes... {CQC239} & {SSSC217}

Happy Tuesday again!!! I can't believe how quickly the weeks have been slipping by - it's like I blink and I miss it...please tell me I'm not the only one????

This week's Colour Q combo is full of bright, spring-y colors...just what the doctor ordered for curing the when-is-spring-going-to-get-here blues.  :)  Take a look:

I thought I'd click on over to the Sweet Sunday Sketch to see what Karen's got going on over there this week and, wouldn't you know it, the PERFECT sketch for the flowers I was planning to use:

And, yes...it's ANOTHER birthday card.  My mother-in-law just came and bought every single one I had in my stash so now it's time to replenish...

So, that's it for me.  I've got a fairly quiet week planned - a couple of classes at the gym and, hopefully, a few outdoor runs to get me ready for my first 10K of the season May 24.  I have NOT been faithful in my training so it should be interesting... but who can complain when a weekend in the mountains is the reward?

Have a great week, everyone!

{Happy Birthday} CQC238 & RS111

Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed your Easter weekend.  Ours was spent quietly at home - the boys watching TV while I took some time to finish up a quilt top that has been lingering for far too long.  We all had yesterday off too so I spent a little while in my craft room making a card for this week's Colour Q challenge...take a peek:

As usual, I surfed around my tried-and-true challenges for a sketch that I could use and found this fun one with a wonky panel over at Retrosketches:

Certainly nothing fancy about this card - I never seem to have enough birthday cards (and my MIL loves to come and take some off my hands from time to time) so that's why I chose to use this fabulous sentiment from Verve again.  :)

*fingers crossed*  It seems that spring has FINALLY sprung around here which can only mean one thing...yard work - and lots of it!  You forget how much *stuff* gets buried under that mountain of snow each winter.  :)

Okie dokie - have a fantastic week!

{Life is Good} ... CQC237 & RS110

Hello and thank you for stopping by this week! Sorry I wasn't around last week - time just got away from me and the card I should have made didn't happen.  I have had a LOT on my plate lately and I foresee some changes coming in the future - good changes.  :)  In the meantime, I've got a brand new Colour Q to share with you all.  Take a peek:

As usual, I left it to the last minute and had to find a CAS, quick sketch to get it done and this week"s Retrosketches worked perfectly:

This sketch was great for using up some of those scraps in the scrap box and took less than 20 minutes to get 'er done.  :)

Thanks again for stopping by - enjoy your week.  Hopefully you will all be able to enjoy family and friends this Easter weekend... I'm sure looking forward to relaxing and taking some time to count my blessings.

See you next week!

{That's How I Roll}... CQC235 & RS108

Hello again!  It seems like just yesterday I was musing about it being March already and here we are into APRIL!  I swear - the older I get, the faster time goes.  It hardly seems fair... :)

This week Arielle's got another palette of fun colors over at the Colour Q - a couple of them are the same as last week so you may even have them out on your desk right now...take a peek:

 For my card, I used this week's Retrosketches...perfect for a quick, CAS card:

I hope that spring is in full swing wherever you are - Mother Nature hasn't been so nice to us over the last week.  The snow just keeps coming but the forecast  says it's supposed to warm up by the weekend...I'll believe it when I see it!    Thanks for stopping by - see you next week!

{Shine Brightly}... CQC234 & RS107

Welcome to Spring Break, everyone!  The boys have all of this week off - in fact, two of them are enjoying a couple days of skiing with their grandparents right now.  I've taken a couple days off work to hang out with the one kid left at home...and you know what that means, right?  Uninterrupted crafty time!  I spent yesterday morning finishing up a table runner for the dining room buffet that coordinates with the table topper I made a few months ago...

But you didn't come to see *that* kind of crafting, did you?  Tuesday means it's time for a brand new Colour Q combo and Arielle has picked out a soft, spring color palette this week:

I realized that I didn't have any Apricot ink but I did manage to find a scrap of cardstock in my *leftovers* bin...thank goodness!  I used this week's Retrosketches to create this quick card:

The stamps are from Verve - yes, I love my Verve.  :)  The star die is from The Cat's Pajamas.

That'll be it for me today - the weather hasn't been horrible here but it is supposed to start warming up so I am really looking forward to that.  Enjoy your week and I'll see you next week!

Bundle of Joy {CQC233} & {SSSC211}

Howdy,everyone! I've got a quick card to share with you all today - it's time for a new Colour Q combo and Arielle has chosen an awesome, spring-y bedding set as this week's inspiration:

I decided to use the Sweet Sunday Sketch again this week and whipped up a baby card using some left-to-gather-dust Verve awesomeness:

That's it for me - I'm sure enjoying this awesome spring weather but not the mud that inevitably comes with it.  It will dry up soon, right? ;)

Have a great week - next week is Spring Break for my boys so I'm sure looking forward to that...see you then!

CQC231... {Life Doesn't Have to Be Perfect...}

Hello, everyone! Well, it appears that spring may FINALLY be here in Central Alberta - the temperatures have been GORGEOUS and I've been able to get outside for a couple of walk/runs...that definitely lifts my spirits.  :)  There's something so refreshing about the smell of the spring air and the warmth of the sun...best day ever, right?

This week we've got another fun, St. Patrick's Day-inspired combo for you to play with over at the Colour Q...but this one has a twist.  One of the "colors" is newsprint!!  Take a peek:

I haven't played along over at the Sweet Sunday Sketch even once since I stepped away from the DT so I figured it was about time I remedy that!  This week's sketch is, as always, an awesome one that you can keep CAS or fussy it up - love that versatility:

Here in the Hubert household, we've been going through a few "bumps in the road" lately and I have to remind myself daily of this sentiment...

Best Day {Ever} - - CQC231 & STS14

Hello again, crafty peeps! Can you believe we are into March already?  This year is ZIPPING by - not sure I like that too much.  The only thing I *do* like is the fact that every day that passes means we are one day closer to SPRING!  I know I live in Canada but, gosh darn it, I'm kind of done with winter...just sayin'.  ;)

Today marks the first of a couple of weeks of St. Patrick's Day-inspired color combos over at the Colour Q Challenge.  Today's inspiration is this awesome clover tea set (currently out of stock...:( )

One of my favorite guy friends is having a birthday this weekend and the sentiment on my card is one of his favorite things to say... and actually has become one of mine too.  Even if we are having the crappiest day ever, all one of us has to say is "Best Day Ever" and we are both smiling...it could be worse, right?

The sketch is the last one from Seize the Sketch:

On the inside I stamped a basic "Happy Birthday"... and decorated the inside with a small panel of the polka dot paper across the bottom.  :)

I look forward to seeing what you create with these fun colors - thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great week.
