4CCC-118 {Crazy Egg - Ornaments}

It's the fifth Thursday of the month and you know what that means...it's CRAZY EGG Challenge time over at the 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge.  This time around we started thinking about Christmas and have decided on a theme of  "Ornaments" for this crazy egg challenge - interpret as you may...ornament paper, dies, even make your very own Christmas ornament.

For my card, I used MME "12 Days of Christmas" paper decorated with ornaments and then complemented it with The Cat's Pajamas' "J*lly H*liday" stamp set.  And, as usual, I come in *just* in the nick of time with Jen's Sketch for You To Try for November:

Don't forget about the prize package up for grabs if you play along with us over at the 4 Crafty Chicks...Tamie's got some fun stuff for you to win.  Thanks for stopping by - see you on Sunday for a brand new Sweet Sunday Sketch.  Enjoy the rest of your week!

4CCC-111 {Tag! You're It!}

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I think that Mother Nature is getting us ready for winter...we got our first snowfall yesterday and it is downright chilly!  But never fear - crafting doesn't happen outside so there's no excuse for not playing along with another fun-tastic 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge!  This week, I'm your hostess-with-the-mostest and I've got a fun one for you..."Tag! You're It!"  Show us your cards with tags or a tag all on its own - the choice is up to you!

I decided to stamp my main image on a tag and play along with the Colour Q combo and this month's Sketch For You To Try - don't you love them both?

The main image is from a fun Halloween set from There She Goes - the spider web border die is one of theirs too - love!!  I hope you will find some time to play along with us this week - I can't wait to see how you incorporate tags into your creations!

What's Black and White and Pink All Over??

Well, this week's challenge over at Totally Stampalicious, of course!  All you have to do is use black, white and any shade of pink on your card to join us for this week's festivities.  I decided to use the new, In Colors' Blushing Bride for my pink and the old stand-bys of Whisper White and Basic Black when making my card.

I thought Jen's Sketch For You To Try would fit my image, Desiree Lollipop, perfectly:

Recipe - Stamps: Desiree Lollipop (Totally Stampalicious)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Blushing Bride, SU! DSP  Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Copics, button, paper piercer

Thanks for peeking - I hope you will join us over at TS for this fun color challenge.  There are so many possibilities with this color combination... I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Another Totally Stampalicious - Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge Two-'fer

Welcome, welcome, welcome!   I'm back with another groovy color combo from Megan over at Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge - don't you love the bright colors?  As many of you know, Pacific Point is NOT one of my faves, but I continue to {try} to love it...

This week over at Totally Stampalicious is a very SPECIAL one - not only do we have a great challenge for you but we are this week's sponsor over at Jen's Sketch For You To Try!!!  In honor of such a fabulous match, I decided to use Jen's sketch for the TS challenge, "Inside and Out!  Decorate the inside of you card as well as the outside."

I very rarely decorate the inside of my cards but I've decided I should do it more often because it really {does} add that little bit of "oomph!"   For this one, I chose to do an easel card to incorporate the inside decoration:

Stamps: Birthday Kids (Totally Stampalicious)  Paper: Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Whisper White, Pacific Point, SU! DSP  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Accessories: Nestabilities, Houndstooth embossing folder, buttons, twine, scallop edge punch, Copics, Copic Spica atyou glitter pens

If you 'd like to see more of these colors, hop over to see what the rest of the PPC Creators did:

And if you decide to play along with us over at Totally Stampalicious, don't forget to stop back and link us up so we can come and see what you did.

Enjoy your Monday, everyone!  It's AUGUST!!!!

Welcome to the Weekend!!!

It's the WEEKEND!!!  WOOHOO!!!  It has been a VERY busy week around here and I am thoroughly enjoying some much-needed quiet *me* time.  DH and the youngest boy are at 4-H Achievement Day and the other two boys and I stayed home.  I spent some time out in the yard this morning before coming inside to do what I love most...

Before I get to my card, I just wanted to tell y'all how much I enjoyed the Daughtry concert on Thursday night!  OH-MY-GOODNESS ~~~ Could he get any cutie-patootier??  (I know that's not a word...)  And what a voice - he did almost 2 hours and did an acoustic version of Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" that gave me goose-bumplies.  We were actually VERY lucky to have even MADE it to the concert because as we were on our way to pick Lori's sister up, Lori's van decided to "take a break."  Yep, in the middle of a busy road, Lori's transmission went...no warning, nothing!  A tow truck and a few frantic phone calls later and we were able to make our way to the concert. She's got the story on her blog if you want to read her version.  We missed the first band, Cavo, but made it just in time for Lifehouse and, of course, Daughtry!  I'd go see him again and again, and again, and again... :)

But you didn't come to hear me gush about Mr. Daughtry, did you?  For this card, I played around with the Just Us Girls color challenge, Jen's Sketch For You to Try and KL Stampin N Scrappin's challenge to "Show Our Animal Friends Some Love!"

I used one of the freebie digis I get from Bugaboo Stamps every Friday - Jodi has got some CUTE ones this week so be sure to stop over and check them out.

Recipe - Stamps: Bee Bear Flowers (Bugaboo Digi Stamps), Small Sayings (SU!)  Paper: Whisper White, Kraft, Night of Navy, Real Red, SU! DP  Ink: Night of Navy, Sahara Sand, Bashful Blue (sponging)  Accessories: Nestabilities, paper piercer, Swiss Dots embossing folder, Copics, grosgrain ribbon, button, hemp twine, sponge dauber, Tiger Print embossing folder (Sizzix)

I'm hoping to get another one or maybe two done tonight but right now I have to get some supper going so I'll see you later!

Lemons, Life, Love...

What a week!!!

On Thursday night I had the HONOR, along with my partner-in-crime, Lori, of attending a "Copics 101" class at our LSS ... and our instructor was none other than blogland-famous, Laura!  We had such a great time and learned SO much - who knew there was so much to *know*???  In fact, we had SUCH a great time that we signed up to take another class in June!  YAY us!  :)

Anyhoo, while we were shopping at the LSS afterwards, I picked up a Flourishes stamp set I've had my eye on for awhile now - I decided I *had* to have it.  Life, Love and Lemons has been whispering to me, "Take me home...take me home..." How could I ignore it again?

I found Jen's Sketch For You to Try and it was PERFECT for the lemon image:

I popped over to the KL Stampin' N Scrappin' challenge blog to see this week's challenge is a recipe challenge:
"Easy as 123"
1 Type of Ribbon
2 Designer Papers
3 Embellishments

I thought to myself, "Easy peasy!" and got to work.  Some cutting, pasting and coloring later... et voila!

I still have a LOT to learn about coloring with these fab markers but I *do* like how it turned out.  This new Origins DP from Basic Grey is my new favorite - I just {heart} the colors...so bright and springy!

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Look Ma, No Stamps!

OK - who else has a bazillion rub-ons that seem to sit and collect dust?  *guiltily raising hand...*  I really should get them out and use them more often since they make a card come together SOO quickly!

I popped over to Samantha's Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo challenge to find the newest combination:

I paired it with Jen's Sketch For You to Try:

Rotated it 180* and came up with this:

TA DA! Simple and quick - not my usual!  LOL  Thanks for clicking over - enjoy the rest of your day!  See you tomorrow.  :)

Here We Go Again...

What a day I've had...crafting, crafting and more crafting.  Oh - and some good tunes cranked up to keep things rolling.  :)

My third card for today was inspired by the Color Throwdown's Color Challenge and Jen's Sketch For You to Try:

Wanna hear a secret?  I had completely finished the card, glued down and everything when I realized I FORGOT to use the Soft Sky!  ACK!  So, I quickly lifted the sentiment circle, added a Soft Sky layer, sponged SS around the sentiment and called 'er done.  :)  I enjoy it when we are challenged to use some of the older colors since I find I don't use them one they aren't in the catalog anymore.

Will I have time for one more tonight?  Maybe...stay tuned... Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Blessings

 Helloooooo all!

What a day this has been... who wouldn't love watching the Canadian men win hockey gold and then watching an AMAZING closing ceremonies while crafting a card or two?  Gotta love Sunday night.  :)

I have been looking at the Color Throwdown's color combination since last week and finally had the chance to use it tonight.
I popped over to Jen's Sketch For You To Try and found this beautiful sketch:

It always amazes me how she (and many other sketch creators) come up with these wonderfully creative sketches week after week...

Anyhoo - I dug out some paper and my inked up one of my NEW Pure Innocence stamps (these little girlies are super-duper cute!) and created this:

I know the image is a LOT larger than the sketch suggested but I *had* to use her...she was calling to me... *wink*

'Kay, I'm outta here for the night.  Tomorrow's Mojo Monday so I'm sure I'll have something to share with you then.  Enjoy your night everyone!

The Quickest Card I've Ever Done!

And I'm not even kidding ~ once I decided on a stamp set, I put this together in probably less than 20 minutes!

I started with the Just Us Girls Challenge - this week it was a color challenge (which just happen to be my favorite kind of challenge!)  I totally {heart} this combo:

Isn't it beautiful?  I decided to use some of the Purely Pomegranate I have been hoarding (much like my Riding Hood Red), Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and Cameo Coral.  Then I zipped over to Jen's Sketch For You to Try and found this:

I went to my stamp cupboard, found the Flower Lines stamp set, decided to make a 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 card and got to work.  I stamped the image with PP, used a 1-1/8" square punch to punch them out, inked the edges, layered them on Cameo Coral and Chocolate Chip, added some beyootiful Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon (again... hoarding...), Swiss Dotted the background, added some buttons and voila:

I have a busy day tomorrow but I'll try to get something done tomorrow night - see you then!

Saturday Chillin'

I just LOVE Saturdays.  I got to sleep in a bit, watched some morning Olympics, sent my DH off with the youngest DS to 4-H this afternoon and I sat down to craft.  :)

My friend, Tamie, discovered the KL Stampin N Scrappin Challenge Blog so I thought I'd check it out.  This week's challenge is a color challenge - red, black and white.  YES!  I LOVE those colors together.  Then I popped over to see Jen's Sketch for You to Try:

I looked through my DP to see what would inspire me and found that flocked/velvety paper SU! had in their Holiday Mini - I hadn't used ANY of it yet!  It's BEYOOTIFUL!  The rest of the card came together pretty quickly.  I used another one of the sentiments from Verve's Love's Flower set - who doesn't love a bit of chocolate?

Recipe - Stamp: Love's Flower (Verve)  Ink: Onyx Black Versafine, Real Red  Paper: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, SU! DP  Accessories: Satin ribbon, grosgrain ribbon, adhesive pearls, Swiss Dots EF, paper piercer, clear embossing powder, paper flowers, epoxy brad, sponge dauber, ticket corner punch, Martha Stewart border punch

DH and DS will be home in a bit so I'd better get supper started and things tidied up.  Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I'm in the Zone...

...and I can't wait to start the next card! I finished this one this morning before I left for an appointment but didn't have time to post it.  I used the Diva Coffee Break Designs Challenge Color Combo for this week...

... and Jen's Sketch for You to Try (glad you're back, Jen!)...

... and came up with this:

Thanks for stopping by - I'm going to take a stab at Riley's Color Dare.  How're these for spring-inspired colors???

Check back to see what trouble I can get myself into - later!
