Look Ma, No Stamps!
OK - who else has a bazillion rub-ons that seem to sit and collect dust? *guiltily raising hand...* I really should get them out and use them more often since they make a card come together SOO quickly!
I popped over to Samantha's Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo challenge to find the newest combination:
I paired it with Jen's Sketch For You to Try:
Rotated it 180* and came up with this:
TA DA! Simple and quick - not my usual! LOL Thanks for clicking over - enjoy the rest of your day! See you tomorrow. :)

Three Challenges, Two Cards, One Sketch...
Are you as glad as I am that it's Friday???? OY. What a week and I am POOPED! I have had VERY little time to do anything let alone sit and craft so when I got home this afternoon I MADE time. :)
I always have so many challenges that I *want* to do but I guess I have to accept the fact that I'm not always going to be able to do them all. I thought maybe if I did two cards at once I could "kill two birds with one stone" as the old adage goes...
I've been looking at Samantha's combo for this week for a couple of days - they are great colors and I don't use Really Rust very often but I like how well they go together:
The Color Throwdown has a very soothing, calming combination for us - Garden Green is slowly becoming one of my favorite colors:
I decided that I wanted to use one of my new Verve Plain Jane's so I went in search of a sketch that would fit it and found today's Friday Sketchers' sketch:
Well, it *kind* of works... I had to rotate it 90* clockwise to make it work...
I'm heading off to get some supper going and then I'm going over to Lori's to help her finalize some Stamp-a-Stack details - hopefully we'll be able to get all prepped before I leave for Europe...only 17 more sleeps...ACK! I am *so* NOT ready!
See you later- enjoy your weekend!

Wednesday... WHEE!!!
Happy Hump Day!
I'm going to make this short and sweet - the craftin' mojo is flowing and I don't want it to to go anywhere!
I made my first card of the day for six different challenges:
- KL Stampin n Scrappin's Challenge: A sketch this week...
- The Pink Elephant: A spring card - what is more spring-y than swinging from a tree and feeling the wind blow through your hair?
- Crafty Creations Challenge: "Spots and Dots" ... I've got LOTS of those!
- Creative Card Crew: "Going Dotty"... :)
- The Little Paper Shop: "Make Something Old, New Again. Take something you've had for a while and use it again like it's something you just got." So I found some O-L-D Stampin' Up vellum that worked perfectly on my Cameo Coral layer - it had spots and everything! It's my lucky day, I tell ya!
Isn't she cute? I totally love these little girls and can't wait to get some new ones. :) OK - I'm off to do the next one...I'm thinking it's going to be Arielle's Colour Q:
And I have Cameo Coral & Rich Razzleberry out already! :) See you soon!

Saturday Morning Three-'fer
Hey Everyone!
For the first time in a LONG time, I was able to sleep in until nearly 10:30 this morning! It was SOOO heavenly... *sigh* After I got out of bed, I did some tidying in the kitchen, threw some bread in the bread machine and then sat down to peruse the blogs.
Yet another color combo has been sitting on my desktop since the beginning of the week and when I found that Crazy 4 Challenges' challenge was to make a masculine card, I knew I could finally use Samantha's Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo:
I also used Papertake Weekly's sketch (but I flipped it 90 degrees...):
I dug through my stamps and found one from the Little Paper Shop that I had NEVER inked up and thought it would be perfect for a masculine card. The sentiment is from LPS too:
This is one of my more plain (aka BORING) cards but I know it has to be for a man... only the chosen *few* appreciate buttons, bows and pearls. *wink*
I just put supper in the oven so hopefully I'll have time to make another card. Thanks for stopping by - enjoy the rest of your afternoon!
P.S. Don't forget about the new Curtain Call tomorrow, The Shabby Tea Room on Monday and Megan's search for DT members over at the Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge.

Just One More...
I wanted to whip this off before I sit down to watch Survivor and Grey's Anatomy... I'm not as thrilled with this one as the other two I did today. Maybe the craftin' mojo got all used up? Anyhow, I have been looking at this color combo all week and have been avoiding, avoiding, avoiding. Samantha always has really unusual combinations - unusual in a good way - and I really have to think about them before I get started. Here's this week's combo over at Scrapmaster's Paradise:
My friend, Tamie, used this sketch from Card Patterns weekly card sketch challenge earlier in the week for a very cute card so I grabbed it and ran with it:
The colors screamed "BOY" to me and what boy wouldn't love a little monster card?
Like I said, I kinda wish I'd done things a bit differently but c'est la vie! It's done and I'm not going to lose sleep over it. :)
Enjoy your Thursday - tomorrow's Friday and Verve's new release party is going on over at Splitcoast in the PM. I can't wait to see what Julee and the crew have got for us this time - you can never have too many Verves. *wink*
See you tomorrow!

Tuesday Morning Fun - Take Two!
I did this one first thing this morning using Samantha's Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo Challenge and Julee's Mojo Monday sketch:
I chose square. :)
I used Verve's "Forever in Our Hearts" stamp set - I thought the colors would make a nice sympathy card.
Thanks for stopping by - enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!

Mojo Monday and . . .
. . . a V-E-R-Y difficult color challenge - for me, at least. Samantha chose some BOLD, BRIGHT colors and you all know I seem to have a very difficult time when they are all so "in your face." But I knew if I threw some black and white in there to balance the bright ones out, I could make it work.
I knew I would be using Julee's Mojo Monday sketch so all that was left was to figure out which stamps I was going to use. The colors screamed "kid card" and I thought it would make a fun birthday card. So I dug through ALL my stamps to find one that would fit the sketch and the theme. This week's challenge over at The Pink Elephant is a Recipe Challenge: to use ribbon. EASY PEASY.
Here ya go:
Recipe - Stamps: Dino-Mite (MFT), So Many Scallops (SU!) Ink: Onyx Black Versafine, Copic markers Paper: Day and Night DP, Whisper White, Basic Black, Summer Sun, Green Galore, Only Orange, unknown gingham print Accessories: Martha Stewart border punch, Happy Birthday & Houndstooth embossing folder, scallop punch, circle punch, grosgrain ribbon, adhesive pearls, clear embossing powder
I know I cheated a bit by using so much black and white but I just couldn't make them all work without the neutrals. I think it turned out pretty nicely - what do you think?
I'm going to spend the rest of today celebrating Family Day with the ones I love the most - we'll likely be watching more of the Olympics to see if Canada can win another gold. I was so inspired by last night's performance by Alexandre Bilodeau. It made my heart warm and fuzzy seeing how his relationship with his older brother, who has Cerebral Palsy, has contributed to his success. As a parent of a child with special needs, I can only hope that my two "typical" boys will be as inspired by *their* brother as Alexandre is by Frederic. I'm going to give you the link to an interview done by Brian Williams from CTV with Alexandre and his family.
It really is an amazing interview. His family comes in towards the end - it is a long interview - but you can just see the love this family has for each other and how important they have all been to get him to where he is today. Makes me proud to be a Canadian. :)
Take care of the ones you love - see you tomorrow.
