A Specialty Challenge at Picture Perfect Creations

Hello everyone!  Welcome back for a fun challenge at Picture Perfect Creations.  As many of you know, we usually have a color challenge for you all but this week, being the third Monday of the month, we've got a specialty challenge and it's one that ANYONE can participate in.  :)  We want to see your embossing - and you can decide if you want to use heat or dry or both!

I love this week's color combo over at The Play Date Cafe - so calming...  I decided to use Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, a bit of Kraft and Basic Grey:

The sketch is from Friday Sketchers:

Stamps: Accent Notes (Verve)  Paper: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze, SU! DSP  Ink: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze  Accessories: Perfect Polkas Dots embossing folder, Plum Blossom #1 embossing folder, twine, hat pin and beads & flowers (Pretties kit), paper piercer, Kraft tag die cut, Basic Grey satin ribbon, circle punch

I found this awesome rolled flower tutorial awhile ago and LOVE how the flowers turn out but I don't use hot glue for mine.  I use a little square of double sided sticky paper (Sookwang/Be Creative) and stick it to a piece of cardstock and then use my circle punch to punch out the base of the flower.

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you will have time to play along with us this week at Picture Perfect Creations.  Be sure to stop and see how the other PPC Creators integrated the embossing challenge into their cards.  See you again soon!

PPC #36 & Friday Sketchers

Welcome back for another Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo!  This week, Megan has given us a combination that has a distinctly "Halloween-y" feel to it:

I don't have a lot of Halloween stamps so I tried to go in a completely different direction - with a Christmas card!  HA!  I popped over to Friday Sketchers to find this fab sketch:

Recipe - Stamps: So Many Scallops  Ink: Concord Crush  Paper: Concord Crush, Kraft, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, SU! DSP  Accessories: Concord Crush Poly Twill ribbon, Scallop Punch, Circle Punch, button, twine, Northern Flurry embossing folder, Kassie's Brocade embossing folder, adhesive rhinestones, paper piercer

Thanks for stopping by - take a few minutes to stop and see what the rest of the PPC DT did with these colors.  See you later!

*Sniff* I Hate Good Byes...

Well... I know all good things must come to an end but darnit! ~ I don't want them to!!!  This week's Curtain Call over at Stacey's Stamping Stage is my last week as a Curtain Call Crew design team member.  I've had a FABULOUS 6 months creating for Stacey and with the other amazingly talented ladies.  I am truly going to miss being a part of it all - but I will still be playing along every week!

This week's combo is chock-full of Stampin' Up's brand new In Colors and the "redefined" Kraft, Crumb Cake:

I found the newest sketch at Friday Sketchers and loved the simplicity of the layout:

Stamp: 1 Peter 5:7 (Verve)  Ink: Concord Crush  Paper: Kraft, Concord Crush, Whisper White, SU DSP  Accessories: Paper piercer, Kraft taffeta ribbon, Nestabilities, button, hemp twine, jumbo eyelets, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Divine Swirl embossing folder

The rest of the Curtain Call Crew has samples to show you today, too, so make sure you stop by to see:

and our fabulous Guest Designer for August...Teresa Kline at Enjoy the VA Sunshine.

...then play along with us and post your Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 45 creation using Mr. Linky back over at Stacey's Stamping Stage.

I want to take this final opportunity to thank each and every one of these fabulous ladies for keeping me company over the last six months.  I have been inspired and challenged by all of you and thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything....  I'm sure our paths will cross again.  :)

See you all tomorrow for a Shabby Tea Room challenge, a Picture Perfect Creations challenge and a Totally Stampalicious challenge!  WHEW...  And don't forget about the 4 Crafty Chicks inaugural challenge on Thursday!

Three Challenges, Two Cards, One Sketch...

Are you as glad as I am that it's Friday????  OY.  What a week and I am POOPED!  I have had VERY little time to do anything let alone sit and craft so when I got home this afternoon I MADE time.  :)

I always have so many challenges that I *want* to do but I guess I have to accept the fact that I'm not always going to be able to do them all.  I thought maybe if I did two cards at once I could "kill two birds with one stone" as the old adage goes...

I've been looking at Samantha's combo for this week for a couple of days - they are great colors and I don't use Really Rust very often but I like how well they go together:

The Color Throwdown has a very soothing, calming combination for us - Garden Green is slowly becoming one of my favorite colors:

I decided that I wanted to use one of my new Verve Plain Jane's so I went in search of a sketch that would fit it and found today's Friday Sketchers' sketch:

Well, it *kind* of works... I had to rotate it 90* clockwise to make it work...

I'm heading off to get some supper going and then I'm going over to Lori's to help her finalize some Stamp-a-Stack details - hopefully we'll be able to get all prepped before I leave for Europe...only 17 more sleeps...ACK!  I am *so* NOT ready!

See you later- enjoy your weekend!

We were asked to use any or all of these colors: red, pink, brown, green, vanilla.  I decided to pair the colors with a sketch from a few weeks ago at the Friday Sketchers Blog:

Taking Another Stab at The Paper Flower...

Hi crafty peeps!

I had some time tonight to craft so I thought I'd find a sketch and color challenge where I could practice making those amazing paper flowers.  Julia and the girls have a lovely colour combination over at the Little Paper Shop blog this week:

I decided to use Taken With Teal, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.  When I found this sketch over at Friday Sketchers, I knew it was the PERFECT match:

See that big flower in the bottom corner????  Yep, yep, yep....perfect.

The sentiment is from another Little Paper Shop set I have called {A Dream}.  The paper is all Stampin' Up and the Nestabilities are Labels One and Labels Six.  I used the SU! scallop punch for the flower and some miscellaneous paper flowers for the other two smaller ones.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for my Curtain Call card and then again on Monday for The Shabby Tea Room's inaugural challenge and my sample card - I'm so excited to see how many of you join us next week.  Rumour has it that Debbie has lined up some amazing guest designers for the first couple of weeks - I can't wait to see who!!

See you later!

Super Saturday

Good morning, crafty chicks!
I have had an awesome morning so far and it's only 11 AM!  I woke up this morning WAYYYY too early for a weekend and figured I could take a few quiet minutes at the computer to *plan* my day around the challenges.  I sat down, clicked over to Sketch Saturday to see what they have for us (I'll use their sketch later today) and discovered that I had won their goodies from last week!  How cool is that?  Wanna see what I won???

I am so SUPER EXCITED!!!   I LOVE that Kraftin' Kimmie stamp and those bunnies are going to made cute Easter cards.  Let me tell you, that sure got my mojo flowing this morning.

I've been wanting to to the Play Date Cafe's new color challenge for a couple of days but haven't had much time so I thought I'd tackle it first.  I love the colors inspired by the photo: black, white and a splash of teal...

They said we could use any shade of teal we wanted so I went to my drawer and pulled out some Cool Caribbean from a few years ago.  I had been over to been over to the Makeup 4 the Weekend Challenge earlier this morning and saw their inspiration picture for their challenge and I knew I could combine this challenge with the Play Date cafe challenge.

I decided to use the butterflies in the picture as my inspiration for the image I chose to use.  I popped over to Friday Sketchers to see what I missed yesterday and discovered:

Another square card. . . I'm starting to like square cards. . .

Recipe - Stamps: Butterflies (Little Paper ShopPaper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Cool Caribbean, Night & Day Specialty Paper  Ink: Onyx Black Versafine  Accessories: Swiss Dots EF, Nestabilities, white & black ribbon, adhesive pearls, clear embossing powder, scallop edge punch, paper piercer, copic marker, button, silver cord

OH YEAH - another super awesome thing I figured out this morning????  I made my OWN WATERMARK - - all by myself!  For some of you out there this probably isn't a big deal but it's huge for me.  I would *really* like to include a dragonfly somewhere on it but for now, text is just fine!  LOL

Enjoy your Saturday!
