I used this week's Retrosketches and used the negative technique for my leaves:

And this week's Colour Q was PERFECT for a CAS flower and leaves (and I'll throw my hat into the ring for the open DT call):

TAWS Sneak Peek Day Three {Bump in the Night}

Hi everyone! What a busy week this is going to be for me - a post a day for the next week with the exception of Saturday - OY!  To start things off, it's Day THREE of the sneak peeks for this month's release over at The Alley Way Stamps.  Today's set is Bump in the Night and it's a fun Halloween-y set.  I've had this Halloween paper pad from Pebbles, Tricks and Treats, that I have been DYING to use ever since I got it so I took this opportunity to go all out with it.

I used this week's Deconstructed Sketch for this fun card:

Fun, right?  I think the next time I will use some Valentine's Day papers with the bats and same sentiment - more of a {love} card than a Halloween card.

Thanks for stopping in today - don't forget to pop over to the TAWS blog to see what the other girls have created and leave a comment for your chance to WIN this set...That's right - WIN!!!  I'll see you tomorrow for the TAWS Blog Hop where you could be the lucky winner of ALL three new releases - EEK!  How awesome would that be?  Au revoir!

4CCC-152 {Pennants} & RS73

Hi again and welcome back for another fun-filled 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge! This week Lori is our hostess with the mostest and she has decided that she would like to see some PENNANTS.  If anyone is wondering what that is, it's kind of like a banner or a triangular flag you might get to cheer on a sports team.  If you are still confused, pop on over to the blog to see how the other girls incorporated this theme into their cards.

For mine, I used some patterned paper from Echo Park (Sweet Day) that had pennants all over it and combined it with the ever-festive polka dots and made this fun little b-day card using sentiments from the TAWS set, Wish BIG:

The sketch is this week's Retrosketches - a nice, CAS one, don't you think?  I even managed to sneak a little bit of Limeade Trendy Twine onto the button. :)

Okie dokie - that's it for me!  Enjoy your day and the upcoming weekend.  Don't forget that the new TAWS Sneak Peeks start on Sunday and you won't want to miss them!  So AMAZING!

Later gators!

SSSC189 & Dynamic Duos #62

Hello everyone! Who's having a fabulous weekend? *raising hand*  The weather has been gorgeous and I've spent many hours out on my deck with my iPod and book... can't get much better than that, can it?  I suppose if you could build a 4-season craft room outside, that might be better but, alas, here in Canada - not exactly practical. ;)

Are you ready for a brand new Sweet Sunday Sketch?  It's been an entire month since I've played along since I took the last one off because we decided to go visit my parents on the spur-of-the-moment and didn't have time to get a card done before we left.  I kind of like this week's sketch - not too fussy but can certainly make it so if you want to:

I combined it with this week's Dynamic Duos combo of Calypso Coral and Basic Black, used my Medallion stamp from Stampin' Up! as the half circle peeking out from behind the one layer and dug out an old Verve verse for the sentiment panel and...VOILA!

There was an addtional element to the Dynamic Duos challenge to include butterflies so I popped one on with my button...not sure I've ever seen a black one before but...;)

All of the fabulous Sweet Sunday Stampers have inspiration for you, so please stop by and say hello to:

Vicki Burdick

and the "NKOTB", Lisa Henke and Jodi Collins!  I didn't get a chance to officially welcome them last sketch so better late than never, right?  WELCOME GIRLS!!!!  So thrilled to have you both on board!

Have a great week, everyone!  See you on Thursday!

BE Inspired 33 & Retrosketches #72

Welcome back! It's Friday and that means the weekend is just around the corner - what do you all have planned?  We've got a laid-back weekend going on - maybe some of the usual yard work but nothing out of the ordinary.  Hopefully the weather cooperates...

Today we've got a brand new BE Inspired Challenge up over at The Alley Way Stamps blog.  Take a peek at the inspiration picture - don't you {LOVE} the colors??

When I first saw the picture, I immediately thought of Christmas and all the fancy tags so I combined that idea with the color palette, used this week's Retrosketches and came up with this calm, Christmas card:

I used an older TAWS set, Jolly Holiday, for the sentiment - don't you love it?  If you STILL don't have any stamps from the Alley Way Stamps (and, really, why not?), don't forget Alison has freebies every month here...  This is what she's got for you all this month:

OK - enough from me.  Enjoy your Friday and I'll see you back here on Sunday for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch!  :)

4CCC-151 {For the Boys} & Mojo 302 & Curtain Call

Welcome back for another 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge! This week, Tamie is our hostess with the mostest and before she left on holidays, she told us to make projects "For the Boys," so that's just what we did.  :)

This month's new release over at The Alley Way Stamps features two nautical/pirate-y sets, Blackbeard's Loot & Land HO!, so when I saw the inaugural Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge, I knew I had to use them for my card:

And since the sponsor over at The Curtain Call is Verve (one of my favorite stamp companies EVER!), I figured I'd use this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

Thanks for stopping by today - make sure to come back tomorrow for our new BE Inspired Challenge over at TAWS - you're gonna love the inspiration photo!  See you then!

A Little Bit of Tuesday TAWS

Happy Tuesday, all!!  Thanks for stopping in today.  I've been so busy these days but I've got a quick TAWS card using Words to Live By and Learning Curve:

No color combo or sketch challenge to go with this one - the paper kind of inspired the whole card.  Thanks for stopping by - see you on Thursday for a brand new 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge.

Happy Saturday - A Little TAWS and DS109...

Hey all! How's the weekend treating you so far?  I'm getting a haircut (much needed!) this afternoon in preparation to see Les Miserables in Edmonton tomorrow night with my oldest DS!  So excited!  I've seen it once before in the early 90's (I know...I'm old:) but this time will be special. :)

In the meantime, I've got a quick card to share with you this morning.  I used this week's Deconstructed Sketch and one of the stamps from The Alley Way Stamps' Pillow Talk to create the horizontal panels seen on the sketch.  The sentiment is from Life is Short and, instead of a bow, I stamped a couple of the crayons from Learning Curve, tied 'em up with some yummy Limeade Baker's Twine from Trendy Twine and popped them on there:

I stamped the background in a rainbow pattern to get a few more "crayon colors"  in there.  :)  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend - thanks for stopping by!

4CCC-150 {3-D Projects} & DD60

It's time for a brand new 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge and this week I'm your hostess with the mostest - aren't you lucky?  This week, we're looking for some amazing 3-D Projects - boxes, bags, canvases, knit, crochet...you decide.  This is a bit of a departure from our usual challenge but I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

For my project, I made a fun little bag of treats - I found these yummy peanut butter-filled pretzels at Costco and filled a little cello bag full, added a bit of an "envelope" for it and voila!!!  I used an image and sentiment from The Alley Way Stamps' set Land HO and combined it with this week's Dynamic Duos color combo - perfect for a tropical bird:

And a quick side view:

I hope you will come and play along - we'd love to see what you create that ISN'T a card.  :)  Thanks for stopping by!
