Grace... {CQC226} & {CAS Colours and Sketches}

Good morning, everyone!!!  I'm so glad to be back home from my crazy trip to Disneyland for the TinkerBell Half Marathon Weekend.  I had so much fun - doing my first half was exhausting but so rewarding...I haven't committed to another one quite yet but am pretty sure I will be signing up for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon in DisneyWorld in November.  If you do a half in Disneyland and a half in Disney World in the same calendar year, you get an extra medal - the Coast to Coast medal!  And you ladies know it's all about the bling!!!

It's Tuesday and time for yet another awesome color combo from Arielle at Colour Q...this one is perfect for all those Valentine's cards you might be making:

I popped over to the CAS Colours & Sketches blog to find this simple sketch that worked perfectly to showcase my newest Verve goodies:

I love this quote and have had many moments lately where I've had to remind myself of this...it's all about the journey.

I'll leave you with a couple of pics from my trip - they're not great because they're selfies (which I HATE) and I hate having my picture taken...especially by me!  The first one is during the half between mile 2 & 3 with World of Color in the background...so pretty!

This is me in front of the castle:

And in line waiting for the awesome Radiator Springs Racers ride in CarsLand...awesome!!

OK - that's it for today.  See you on Saturday for a special surprise that will last the whole month of February...any guesses?  Enjoy your week!

You're So Kind {CQC225}

Hey everyone! As you are reading this I am likely still recovering from my crazy weekend of running in Disneyland but I am on my way home this afternoon.  Tuesday also means that it's time for another amazing Colour Q combo - here you go:

I didn't have a lot of time to make a card since I was so busy getting everything and everyONE organized for while I was gone so I dug out one of my favorite sets, Six-Sided Sampler, from SU! and put this together in under 15 minutes...and I know it shows. ;)  The hexagons aren't completely perfectly aligned but I was not about to redo it...:)   The sketch is from the CAS - Colours and Sketches Blog from a couple of weeks ago:

Okie dokie - I'm outta here!  Enjoy your day - I hope to get some Disney pics posted for you all soon...stay tuned!

Happy Birthday {CQC224} & {RS97}

Hey all! It's Tuesday and time for a brand new Colour Q combination.  This week's inspiration photo is a cute, retro'ish top from ModCloth:

I used this week's Retrosketches to make a quick birthday card using some of my favorite Verve goodies:

I hope everyone has a great week - I am off to Disneyland on Thursday to ride some rides and run some races and enjoy a few days away.  I will share some pics when I get back but if I can find some wifi,  I might be able to post a few to Facebook.

Later, crafty peeps!

Did Someone Say Krafty Guest...? {Colour Q #223 & RS #96}

Hello everyone!!! WOW...it has been a week since I posted last and, I must say, I am quite enjoying only *having* to make a card once a week!  If course, I will likely make more than that some weeks but this week was super-busy and I just didn't have time to sit down and craft.  It will likely be much of the same this week and next as I prepare to go to Disneyland with a friend to run the Tinkerbell Half Marathon, the 10K and a 5K all in the same weekend.  Yep, we're certifiable!!!  We actually will probably be walking most of it since she tore her MCL back in August and it still hasn't healed enough to run but we're going to get those medals, darn-it-all!!!

In the meantime, I've got a fun card to share with you today...with a COLORED image!!!  It has been EONS since I colored an image and this never-before-inked Kraftin' Kimmie image was the perfect one to get me back in the groove.  The colors are from the new Colour Q combo...Little Red Riding Hood, anyone?

The sketch is this week's RetroSketches:

 I even decorated the inside, something I don't normally do but wanted to add a bit more to make the "Oops!" on the front make sense:

Now, since this is a new year, we should all try to do things that make us a bit uncomfortable so here it goes...I am also going to submit this card for the Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Guest Contest!!!  Why does this make me uncomfortable, you ask?  Quite honestly, the Krafty Girls are soooooo UBER talented - how could that not make ANYONE uncomfortable?  I would LOVE to be a Krafty Guest for a month!  The challenge is to make a card using a KK image and some sparkle - I didn't use very much sparkle but the sequins on the buttons and then on the inside do the trick, don't you think?

Okie dokie, ladies and gents...that's it for me!  I will be back next week for one more card before I'm off to California!  See you then!
