Pile It On Meets the Pink Elephant

Hello crafty peeps!

I wish Mother Nature would decide what she's doing - the last 24 hours have given us wind, rain, snow and a *bit* of sunshine... I know it is the long weekend in Alberta and it's a given that the weather will likely not cooperate with those who like to go camping but GOLLY GOSH!

Lori and I were going to go for a nice leisurely walk yesterday afternoon but ten minutes into it, the wind started and by the time we got back to the car, the rain wasn't far behind and it was COLD.  SO, what's a girl to do?  Come home and craft, of course!  I finished this card last night but couldn't post it because *someone* (DS#2) left my camera on after he decided to take random pictures of my computer screen...what a goof!

I have had this inspiration picture from the Pile it On Challenge since Monday - the softness of the room is very soothing and I used the colors as my inspiration:

I found another Monday challenge - the time it's a sketch from The Pink Elephant - and got to work:

Recipe - Stamps: Baroque Motifs (SU!),  Rose (Little Paper Shop)  Ink: Chocolate Chip  Paper: Very Vanilla, Blush Blossom, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, SU! DP  Accessories: Swiss Dots & Victoria embossing folders, adhesive pearls, flower punch, Very Vanilla satin ribbon, hodgepodge hardware, oval punch

I haven't used ANY of this Styled Vanilla HPH --- until now--- so this card also qualifies for the ABC Challenge of "U" - unused stash!

As much as I want the sun to come out, I am kind of hoping that it doesn't so I have an excuse to stay inside and craft instead of doing the yard work that is calling my name...*wink*  Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with a couple more new ones! See you then!

8-in-1 Monday!

Wow...I sometimes shock even myself!  I don't think I've ever done a card that incorporated eight challenges at the same time.  Of course it helps when so many challenges have the same theme the same week.  :)

So, here are the challenges this card qualifies for:

I just received this cute image from Wags 'n Whiskers as part of my Sketch Saturday win a few weeks ago and thought it would be perfect for all of these challenges:

Recipe - Stamps: Some Bunny Loves You (Wags 'n Whiskers)  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black  Paper: Close to Cocoa, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Assorted SU! DP, Whisper White  Accessories: Clear embossing powder, Argyle embossing folder, Copics, Bashful Blue satin ribbon, buttons, hemp twine, slot punch, paper piercer, dimensionals

I paper pieced her dress and hair bow, the flower and his shirt and tie.  I used dimensionals to pop up the flower as well as the entire image panel.  I will admit that this image is a bit more "cutesy" than I normally use but I think it makes a really nice spring-y card.  :)

Don't forget to stop and check out The Shabby Tea Room's new challenge as well as The Curtain Call's Color Challenge!  See you tomorrow!

Monday Morning Five-in-One!

Good Morning (almost afternoon)!

What have you done today?  I've been busy doing laundry and trying to get rid of this sore throat I woke up with this morning...and crafting, of course. :)

I can't believe I was able to combine five - count 'em, FIVE - challenges with this fun springy card:
  • Paper Sundaes asked us to create a multi-fold card with an Easter/Spring Theme.  I love making Easel Cards so that's what I decided to do.
  • And, last but not least, another fabulous sketch from Julee over Mojo Monday:

And here's what I created with all those challenges rolling around in my brain:

Recipe- Stamps: Live Simple (Hero Arts)  Paper: Whisper White, Sage Shadow, Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom, Barely Banana, SU! DP (various)  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Certainly Celery, Barely Banana  Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, adhesive pearls, Barely Banana grosgrain ribbon, twine, Copics, Divine Swirls EF, button, paper piercer, clear embossing powder

I realize that I didn't position the pearls like Julee has in the sketch...whatever!  LOL  I had fun with this card- I got to use colors I don't normally use and a stamp set that hasn't seen ink for a LONG time!

If you have time, stop over at The Curtain Call for this week's color challenge and The Shabby Tea Room for our very first weekly challenge!  And don't forget about the Design Team call Megan has going on over at Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge.

Enjoy your Monday!
