4CCC-109 {Health & Wellness}

I know I say this every week but, golly...is it really Thursday already???  Time for another 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge and this week my PIC, Lori, is our hostess-with-the-mostest.  She has given us a theme to create around - "Health and Wellness."  As usual, this theme leaves the door pretty wide open for interpretation so have fun with it and make sure you tell us how your creation is inspired by health and wellness.

I decided to make a card with one of my floppy-eared bunny stamps - the little dude figure skating is one of my faves and fits in perfectly with this week's theme.  Who doesn't love ice skating in the winter? It has been a L-O-N-G time since I played along with a TCP Tuesday challenge so this week I figured I should just go ahead and combine two of them together...how'd you like that?

It's really hard to see (even in this close-up), but I used my Spica glitter pens on his skates and furry parts of his hat:

I hope you will join us at the 4 Crafty Chicks - if you need more inspiration, please visit the other Chicks' blogs and leave 'em some love...I know they'd love to have you.  :)  Enjoy the rest of your week!

{SSSC168} & {CR84FN63}

Happy Sweet Sunday, everyone!!!  It's officially FALL - my favorite time of the year.  The smells, the colors and the cooler temperatures all make me feel warm and fuzzy.  This weekend I'm enjoying the wonderful Rocky Mountains in Banff with my PIC, Lori, and her sister, Jackie.  Jackie and I both did a 10K run yesterday while Lori was our own personal cheering squad.  The mountains in the fall have got to be one of the most amazing sights ever... I will try to post some pics when I get back.

Enough babbling about me - who's ready for another amazing Sweet Sunday Sketch from Karen?   As always, you can layer it all up or, if you're in a rush, CAS is easy-peasy too:

My color combo comes courtesy of the CR84FN Color Challenge -  I love these colors.  Right now they have a DT Call going on so I'm throwing my name into the ring for that too...you all know how much I love my color challenges so I think this would be a perfect match.  :)  I decided to use Early Espresso, Soft Suede and an old SU! color, Blue Bayou, for this combo:

All of the fabulous Sweet Sunday Stampers have inspiration for you, so please stop by and say hello to:

... and this week's amazing Guest Sweet Stamper, Broni Holcombe!

I hope you will be able to find some time to play along with us this week - the next sketch will be in OCTOBER!!!  ACK!!!  Have a great week, everyone!

4CCC-108 {Leaves}

Welcome back, crafty peeps! It's Thursday and that can only mean one thing... A brand new 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge!!!  This week, Tamie is our hostess-with-the-mostest and, with fall in full swing in many parts of the northern hemisphere, she wants to see some LEAVES.  That should be pretty easy...use die cuts, patterned paper, embossing folders...so many ways to incorporate leaves into your creations.

For my card, I used a fun color combo from the girls over at the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog along with a Clean & Simple Stamping sketch:

Thanks for popping in today - I'm heading off to Banff for the weekend with my PIC, Lori, and her sister, Jackie, to run a 10K race.  If the truth be told, I am mostly looking forward to just *getting away* and hanging with the girls... the race is simply a good excuse.  :)  Later, gators!!

{MFT Guest Designer Sketch} & {CQC154}

Hey Crafty Peeps!!! Are you totally surprised? It's Friday and I've got a treat for you - a card I made JUST FOR FUN!!!  Can you believe that?  I seem to be so busy lately that I can't find those extra few minutes to sit and craft for fun.  So, yesterday morning (a blessed day off from work), I got the kids off to school, laundry in the machine, candles lit and I sat down at the computer to check out some of the blogs I {heart} but haven't read in awhile...my first stop was Splitcoast Stampers.  WOW!  I have obviously been living under a rock because I think this was the first time I realized they have a new look...it's wonderful!

I popped into the My Favorite Things forum to check out their weekly sketch challenge but got sidetracked and discovered that I missed out on the chance to become a Guest Designer (which my fabulous friend, Jenny Peterson won...)  The sketch for this challenge was a fun one so I thought I'd give it a go anyways.  I must admit those tilty-panels are NOT on my list of favorite sketch elements but I figured what would a challenge be without a "challenge?"

I haven't really bought many of the new MFT stamps but did have a fair few sets that I could definitely use.  When I came across this colour combo over at the Colour Q Challenge, I knew exactly which set I was going to use:

These colours make me think of fall and warm, homey fabrics - you know, like a big, old quilt - and remembered this little girl with her fun, patchwork-y hat and coat:

I used some felt for the hearts just to give it a big of texture and dimension and added a button and some old embroidery thread I had hanging around.  I've had this Sassafras Lass paper pad FOREVER and have never used it but was thrilled to see how it was for this card - the colours matched exactly AND it has little hearts all over it.  Kismet, I tell ya... I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black, heat embossed it, and then coloured it with my Copics (R11, R22, R43, R59, R89, Y17, Y32, YR23, YR31, E51, W00, W1, E27).

So, there you have it - my Friday For-Fun Card.  :)  Thanks for stopping by - I hope you have a fantastic weekend.  Enjoy the beautiful fall weather.... :)

4CCC-107 {Color Combo} and {SFYTT}

Hidey-ho everyone!!! It's time for another 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge and whaddaya know? It's my turn to be your hostess-with-the-mostest and I've got my FAVORITE kind of challenge for you all... a COLOR CHALLENGE!!!  This combination was inspired by one of the My Mind's Eye paper pads from their Indie Chic collection, "Nutmeg."  So if you have this paper pad, please feel free to use it 'cause it's perfect:

I'm sure you are all sick of seeing these "sentiment only" cards from me but the Verve set, "Words of Wisdom," has really been speaking to me lately.  I *will* do something different soon so bear with me... :)  I combined this color combo with Jen's September Sketch For You to Try:

So, there you have it - isnt it a fun color combo?  I can only imagine what you all will come up with so enjoy!  Have a great week!

{SSSC167} & {CQC153}

It's Sunday-Funday and that can only mean one thing... are you ready for another fabulous Sweet Sunday Sketch???   As usual, Karen's come up with a sketch you can fussy up or leave CAS....she's so amazing.  :)

For my card, I played it CAS and had some fun with my papers and stitching - love my sewing machine.  :)  And, as seems to be the norm for me lately, I used another one of my Verve sentiments, a Plain Jane from last year...

I LOVED this week's color combo over at the Colour Q challenge - so soft and calming...don't you love it too?

All of the fabulous Sweet Sunday Stampers have inspiration for you, so please stop on by and say hello to:

Jackie Pedro (Jackie's taking this week off but I know she'd love to have you pop in!)

4CCC-106 {Blog Hop} & {Metal}

Welcome back for another 4 Crafty Chicks Blog Hop!!!   I'm the second stop so you should have arrived here from Leanne's blog... if you didn't, make sure you pop over and start at the beginning so you don't miss any fantastic inspiration. :)

This week's challenge is a theme, of sorts..."Metal."  You can use anything metal, metallic or, there is even room for some "creative license" as long as you can tell us how you interpreted this theme.  I went very literally on my card and used some metal adhesive brads I have had for awhile but don't use as often as I should:

I made this card for my friend who just had a little baby boy - she moved away in February but came back to town for a baby shower last week.  It was so great to see them both...motherhood really suits her. :)  I don't normally decorate the inside of my cards, but I did for this one...simple but with enough space for a few of us to write our well-wishes:

I used last week's Mojo Monday and Colour Q - perfect colors for a boy card!  Still no Gumball Green so I used Garden Green instead:

Thanks for stopping by today!  Make sure you hop around to all the Chicks' blogs ... don't forget that there are prizes up for grabs for some lucky commenters!!

If you get lost along the way, here's the list:

ME!

Happy Hopping!!!
