For my card I used one of the sentiments from Breakfast Club (who doesn't love that movie???) and paired it with some fun papers - I know they are tea cups and normally we don't "perk" tea, but there might be some people out there who drink their coffee from a tea cup...right?  ;)

BE Inspired #40 & Retrosketches

Hey everyone!  Halloween is just a week away - are you a fan of this holiday? Personally, I am not fond of it but the papers and stamps are pretty cute and so when I saw this week's Be Inspired Challenge, I figured I could make a fun card using some TAWS lovelies.

I went very literally with this inspiration photo and used the black and orange colors to make a Halloween card using stamps from Bumps in the Night:

A Quick Christmas Card {CTD265 &FMS109}

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping in today.  I've got a super-cute Christmas card to share that took less than 20 minutes to put together.  Actually, it took a bit longer because I had to let the Crystal Effects dry all day while I was at work, but other than that - less than 20 minutes. :)

I used this week's Color Throwdown and the sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches:

I used a roll of ribbon to draw my Christmas light strings and then used the little light from the TAWS set, Chill Out to finish it off.  I colored the lights in with Copics and used Crystal Effects to give them a shiny, glass-like look.  SO easy!   The sentiment is from Christmas Magic, also from TAWS.  :)

Colour Q #212 ~ and CTS #50...Sort Of

Hi all! Thanks for stopping by today - It's Tuesday and that means it's time for a brand new Colour Q Color Challenge.  With Halloween quickly approaching, we're seeing Halloween colors and inspiration all over the web and this week's photo is a fun take on a decorating idea:

I decided NOT to go with the Halloween theme and, instead, went with one of the new images from The Alley Way Stamps' set Bacon Bits and part of a sentiment from Words to Live By...and a bit of my own chicken scratch:

I started out using this week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch but had to modify it because the sentiment would have covered up most of the fan if I had put it where I was supposed to:

Well, fellow Canadians - who is recovering from turkey overload?  I know I ate wayyyyyy too much yummy food this weekend but have no regrets.  :)  We had an awesome visit with my parents and then my sister and her family were able to stop in for a bit yesterday on their way home from a ringette tournament so my weekend was filled with family love. 

I was so busy for most of the weekend, it was nice to take a few minutes yesterday morning after mom and dad left to get inky in my craft room.  It's time for a brand new Colour Q and this week's combo is inspired by a totally cool table - not my decorating style, but cool nonetheless:

I had the perfect stamp set for this card - Funky Feet from The Alley Way Stamps has been sitting on my desk for weeks and hasn't seen much ink so it, too, got some love this weekend. The sketch is from Retrosketches...rotated 180*:

Welcome back, everyone! It is a glorious Thanksgiving long weekend here in Canada and let me just tell you how much I love this time of year.  It truly is a glorious sight to watch all the leaves change color and drop from the trees - the fact that the white stuff is coming is quietly forgotten.  ;)

If you have a few extra minutes over the next two weeks, I would encourage you to play along with the new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Karen has given us a totally CAS sketch that wouldn't take long at all to whip up a card for.  My card took me less than 20 minutes and only that long because I couldn't decide which leaf I wanted to use.  ;)  Take a peek:
