Best Day {ever}... JUGS227 & FMS122 & CMCC6

Welcome back! I'm so glad you decided to pop by today - I've got a really cool (albeit DIFFICULT) technique to share with you for my second week as the Guest Designer over at the Just Us Girls Challenge blog.  The technique we are challenging you all to try is the Ink Bordered Die Cuts - the lovely Becca Feeken has an AWESOME video tutorial that explains how to do it PERFECTLY.

I will warn you - you MUST have wet, wet, WET ink pads for this technique to work properly.  I had my whole card planned out but soon discovered that all my pigment ink pads had DRIED UP!!!  The only ink pad I had that would work was my SU! Whisper White Craft Ink so, I had to rethink the WHOLE card.  I used this week's Colour Me! combo as well as the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

It really is a cool technique that helps to give you a border around a die cut when you might not have the right size die for layering.

I hope you will have some time to play with us at JUGS this week - make sure you have LOTS of wipes handy because this is a MESSY one!  See you on Tuesday for a new Colour Q!!!

Believe... {FMS117}

Hey all!!! Six more sleeps until the big day - are you ready?  Admittedly, I am NOT ready yet but I will be by December 24...PROMISE!  :)  So today I've got a card to share with you that took me 10 minutes - TOPS.  Some scraps of Christmas paper, an embossing folder, some twine and a button and DONE.  The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches:

 The sentiment is from the TAWS set Chill Out.

Thanks again for stopping by today and I'll be back tomorrow with the final BE Inspired Challenge of 2013.  See you then!

The Alley Way Stamps Sneak Peek - Day Three {Gabfest}

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in the US!  I hope that you all will be able to take some time to relax and enjoy your families...and maybe find a few minutes to create something awesome.  :)

Today is Day Three of the new release sneak peeks over at The Alley Way Stamps and today's peek is an AWESOME alphabet set that no craft room should be without.  Gabfest is a great mix of uppercase and lowercase alphabet letters, some numbers, and a couple other tiny images.  For my card, I used the only word in the set, "hi", to create my background and a sentiment from Petal Pushers on a die cut cloud finishes it off:

The color combo is from the week's Color Throwdown and the sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches:

Thanks for stopping by today.  Don't forget to head over to the TAWS blog to leave some comment love for your chance to WIN this awesome set...LOVE!!!  And make sure to come back on Saturday for the Blog Hop where one lucky commenter will win ALL THREE new sets!  See you then!

Love You To Pieces {FMS112} & {CTD268}

Good morning, crafty blogging world! It's a lovely fall morning - ahhhhhh, who am I kidding? It's more like winter here in Central Alberta but the past couple of days have had the temperatures hovering at or a bit above zero so some of the blasted snow is slowly melting away.

I only had a few minutes yesterday after school to whip up a card for today because, yes, I procrastinated...and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly this one came together.  I will admit, the Color Throwdown combination really threw me for a loop but when I realized how cute the little heart bubbles from the TAWS set Spell Check would be in bands across the card (for Freshly Made Sketches), I was done in under 15 minutes:

The sentiment is from another one of the TAWS newest releases, In Stitches.  Aren't the images perfect together?

Okie dokie - that's all folks!  I will be back next Tuesday (yes...a few days off to enjoy my family) with a brand new Colour Q combo - see you then!

BE Inspired # 41 & CTD267 & FMS111

Hello crafty friends! I'm back with another fun BE Inspired Challenge over at The Alley Way Stamps.  This week's photo is the PERFECT accompaniment to this month's new release, Breakfast Club - take a peek:

For my card, I combined this week's Color Throwdown with the new Freshly Made Sketches:

In addition to using the coffee cup and coffee beans from the Breakfast Club set, I used bits of words from In Stitches as well... I love how all the fonts blend together so seamlessly.  :)

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you will join us and play along sometime in the next two weeks!  Have a great weekend!

CTD266 & FMS110

Hey everyone! So sorry this is late - I had it set for 5:00 pm, not 5:00 am! Oops! But better late than never, right?

I've got a quick card to share with you today that combines this week's Color Throwdown combo and the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches - with the exception of the horizontal flag I omitted because it would have interfered with the awesome word bubble from the new TAWS set, Spell Check:

Thanks for stopping by today - see you on Tuesday! :)

A Quick Christmas Card {CTD265 &FMS109}

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping in today.  I've got a super-cute Christmas card to share that took less than 20 minutes to put together.  Actually, it took a bit longer because I had to let the Crystal Effects dry all day while I was at work, but other than that - less than 20 minutes. :)

I used this week's Color Throwdown and the sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches:

I used a roll of ribbon to draw my Christmas light strings and then used the little light from the TAWS set, Chill Out to finish it off.  I colored the lights in with Copics and used Crystal Effects to give them a shiny, glass-like look.  SO easy!   The sentiment is from Christmas Magic, also from TAWS.  :)

Okie dokie - that's it from me!  Have a fantastic Thursday and I'll be back in the morning with a new BE Inspired Challenge - I'll see you then!

Thank you so much for stopping in today - enjoy the rest of your week and hopefully the weather is just as awesome wherever you are as it is here in Central Alberta!  Enjoy!!
