Color Dare & Viva la Verve Week Three

Hi everyone!  This week's Color Dare is a good one - calm and soothing - Night of Navy, Marina Mist and River Rock.  My first instinct was to make a boy birthday card but I decided to make a sympathy card instead.  One of the families in our community is grieving the loss of their husband/dad who passed away unexpectedly last week while on a family vacation in Mexico.  It is incredibly sad and yet thought-provoking at the same time... it sure made me want to hold my family a little closer and not take them for granted.  This card will be going to them this week.

I used the Week Three Viva la Verve sketch - another wonky panel...

Stamps: Forever in Our Hearts (Verve)  Ink: River Rock, Night of Navy  Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Marina Mist, SU! DSP  Accessories: Paper piercer, Marina Mist satin ribbon, Leafy Branch embossing folder, Nesties, sewing machine, Beautiful Wings embosslit, adhesive pearls, paper piercer

Thanks for stopping by today - I'm glad you did.  :)  See you tomorrow for a new 4 Crafty Chicks challenge!

Hi everyone!

I'm going to make this post short and sweet - I've been home sick all day but wanted to get this card posted before I forgot about it.  I used Arielle's Colour Q challenge (can you believe she's at #50 already??) and the sketch from Unscripted Sketches (rotated):

Recipe - Stamps: Forever in Our Hearts (Verve), Vintage Labels (SU!)  Ink: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler  Paper: SU! DSP, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait  Accessories: Paper piercer, sewing machine, taffeta ribbon, SU! border punch, adhesive pearls, hodgepodge hardware frame, oval punches

This card also qualifies for Stampin' Royalty #37 Challenge to use stitching.

Thanks for stopping by - don't forget to check out the new challenge over at the 4 Crafty Chicks!  We'd love to have you join us!  See you soon!

Stacey's Curtain Call - Act 34

Welcome back for another super fabulous color combination from Stacey - I don't know how she does it week after week...  :)  I happen to {heart} these colors:

This was another one I worked on while I was in Jasper a couple of weeks ago.  I wasn't sure what direction to go with these colors so I held up all the pieces of cardstock for my PIC, Lori, to see (without telling her what it was for, of course...) and asked her what the colors "said" to her.  She immediately said, "Sympathy," so that's exactly what I did:

Recipe - Stamps: Forever in Our Hearts (Verve)  Paper: Sahara Sand, Basic Grey, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Dusty Durango, Razzleberry DP  Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand  Accessories: Paper piercer, Basic Grey satin ribbon, Square Lattice embossing folder

The Curtain Call Crew has samples to show you today, too, so make sure you stop by to see:

More Verve-y Goodness

I'm back - didja' miss me?  I just finished working on another one of the Verve challenges - this time it was the color challenge:

I decided to use Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip and thought those colors would make a very simple sympathy card.  I popped over to the Just Us Girls Challenge blog and found a sketch that was PERFECT for what I wanted to do:

I pulled out my "Forever in Our Hearts" set from Verve and got to work:

I was also able to incorporate the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge to use paper piercing on our project.

I'm just getting started...what are *you* going to do today?
