More Verve-y Goodness

I'm back - didja' miss me?  I just finished working on another one of the Verve challenges - this time it was the color challenge:

I decided to use Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip and thought those colors would make a very simple sympathy card.  I popped over to the Just Us Girls Challenge blog and found a sketch that was PERFECT for what I wanted to do:

I pulled out my "Forever in Our Hearts" set from Verve and got to work:

I was also able to incorporate the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge to use paper piercing on our project.

I'm just getting started...what are *you* going to do today?

Recipe - Stamps: Forever in Our Hearts (VerveInk: Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry  Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi  Accessories: Scallop border punch, nesties, sponge dauber, white taffeta ribbon, wild wasabi stitched ribbon, Birds & Swirls EF, Sizzlits Lots of Tags Label One, yellow brad, paper piercer, dimensionals

Some Verve-y Goodness

*sniff*  In my excitement of Thursday, I COMPLETELY forgot about my standing date with the gym on Friday nights ... which meant that I had to miss the Verve release party.  *insert sad face here*  On the positive side of things, when I got home, the stamps were out there for all of us to see and buy.   I just have to decide which ones I really *need*...

On Thursday, my friend, Tamie, challenged me and two of our peeps (Leanne and Lori) to create a card.  Well, I did make this one yesterday but didn't have time to post it on the blog.  As part of Verve's release excitement, they gave us challenges to do where we could win some of the new releases!  The first one I did was the sketch challenge:
I dug through all of my DP that was in my scrap box and found some of this retired SU! paper I just {heart}.  Since I didn't need very much, it made sense to use up some scraps to create this:

Recipe - Stamp: To Risk Plain Jane (VerveInk: Old Olive  Paper: Regal Rose, Old Olive, So Saffron, SU! DP, Whisper White  Accessories: Nestabilities, paper piercing, Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon, paper flower, buttons, twine, corner rounder

I got some new toys to play with so I'm off to spend the day creating - I'll do some laundry and other *stuff* too - but I plan to take it easy.  Enjoy your Saturday!

Taylor's Sketch and a Verve Contest Rolled Into One... and Another Easel Card

I've been busy again.  :)

The kids are home today 'cause it's a PD Day so we are trying to get everyone organized for our trip - only 5 more sleeps!  ACK!  I needed a bit of a break from all that "hard work" so I sat down at my computer and started blog hopping.  I found Taylor's weekly Sketch Challenge - another awesome layout:

I went looking for a Color Challenge and discovered that the gals over at Verve are celebrating their new releases (tonight!!!) with 5 different challenges, one of which is a color challenge:

You all know how much I LOVE those easel cards so I made another one.  This time, instead of making it 4-1/4" square I made it the regular 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 size.  Yummy!  I also got some new goodies from Stampin' Up yesterday and a girl's GOTTA use the new stuff, right?

Here's the card front closed up:

And opened up:

And a close-up of the result of my new favorite punch - The XL Two-Step Bird in SU!s new Occasions Mini Catalog:

Isn't it cute?  I had fun - I also LOVE the new "Beautiful Wings" Embosslit from SU!  SO MUCH FUN!

I'm not going to post the recipe today - too much other stuff to do.   If you have a question, please leave a comment and I will get answer it as soon as I can.  Thanks for stopping in!  Later!
