4CCC-92 {Crazy Egg}

Welcome back!  Thanks to everyone who played along with Lori's color combo last week - the entries were beautiful and the other Chicks and I really enjoyed seeing what you created using her combination.

This week's 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge is the fifth one of the month and you know what that means - it's a CRAZY EGG challenge!  For this challenge we want you to "Branch Out" - use branches or trees in your creation.  Leanne is offering up a nice, little prize package so for all the details, make sure you stop over at the 4 Crafty Chicks' blog.

When I went to make my card I realized that I didn't have very many stamps that fit this theme.  Oh, sure, I have my old stand-by, "Lovely as a Tree", but I just wasn't *feeling* that stamp set when I sat down to create.  So, over to the paper stack I went in search of something that might fit the bill.  I came across a new Basic Grey 6x6 pad that hadn't been opened yet, "Konnichiwa."  It has some great colors and a distinct Japanese theme... lots of fun to work with.

I used a sketch from the RetroSketches Challenge and flipped it upside down to create this fun, little card:

Thanks for stopping by today.  This time of the year is a hard time to be inside when all you want to do is play outside!  I know my kids are counting down the days until school's out for the summer.  Actually, I am too - it's time for some sun.  :)  Enjoy your weekend - it's finally June.  See you next week.

4CCC-91 {Color Challenge}

Thanks for stopping by today!!  It has been a rainy, dreary week here in Central Alberta - perfect crafting and baking weather and I have today off so that is exactly what I'll be doing. :) For those of you interested, we had PERFECT weather for our 10K run on Sunday...the course was beautiful and we all surpassed our personal expectations - can't wait to run it again next year!

This week's challenge at the 4 Crafty Chicks is my FAVORITE kind - a COLOR challenge!  Lori is our hostess-with-the-mostest and this is what she's concocted to get your creative juices flowing:
I really love these Clean & Simple Stamping sketches - you can pull a card together sooooo quickly and it looks like you spent hours in your craft room!

If you need some more inspiration, don't forget about the other Chicks - they'd love to have you stop by!  Their links are on the side.  Have a great week - to my friends in the US, enjoy your long weekend!!!  See you soon!

Guest Sweet Sunday Stamper {SSSC159}

OH. MY. GOSH!!! How excited am I???  Over-the-MOON excited, I tell ya!  Thanks to Karen over at Sweet Sunday Sketches for asking me to be this week's Guest Designer!  Karen's sketches are some of my favorite "go-to"s so I was THRILLED to get a sneak peek at this week's to play along with her and the rest of the fabulously amazing design team!

I must say I LOVE this week's sketch - lots of layers and those little fish-tail flags I {love} so much. :)  Take a peek:

I used a lovely, calm color combo from the gals over at CR84FN Color Challenge to make a *relatively* simple Thank You card.  I tried to keep it as flat as possible because I have to mail this one!  The little wooden star button might prove a bit tricky but it was so cute, I had to use it!  Oh - and I turned the sketch so it is up & down instead of side-to-side:

If you'd like to play along with us this week (and why wouldn't you?), don't forget to check out the rest of Karen's amazing DT:

and then link your card back at the Sweet Sunday Sketch post.  Thanks, again, Karen for letting me join you this week!  I had a great time and look forward to many more fantastic sketches!

4CCC-90 {Graduation}

What a great week this has been!  The weather has been absolutely gorgeous and we are looking at a LONG WEEKEND!!  WOOHOO!  Now, normally we will take off and go visit my parents for the weekend but not this weekend...no siree!  This weekend is my first 10K run of the season.  ACK!  My fellow Chick, Lori, and I are going to run this one together.  I will admit that I haven't been diligent in my training so not looking to have a smoking time but I *am* looking forward to spending the time with my peep. :)

But you came to see my card, right?  This week's 4 Crafty Chicks' hostess-with-the-mostest, Tamie, has challenged us to make a graduation-themed card/project.  I don't usually make grad cards so this was fun to do and now I have one on-hand "just in case."

For my card I used this lovely inspiration photo from Crazy 4 Challenges as well as Jen's May Sketch For You to Try.  I loved the colors in the bowl of balls and all of the different patterns really jumped out at me.  For Jen's sketch, I flipped it on it's side, used an awesome Verve sentiment, and there ya go:

Thanks for stopping by today - hope you all enjoy your weekend, wherever you are!!  If you have time to stop by on Sunday, please do. I am so excited to be Karen's Guest Sweet Stamper over at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge this time around!  It's a fun one.  :)  Later, skaters!

4CCC-89 {Sentiment Only}

Welcome back for another fun challenge at the 4 Crafty Chicks!  This week, I am your hostess-with-the-mostest and I am challenging you to use a SENTIMENT ONLY as the focus of your card - no other stamping allowed.

I combined last week's TCP Tuesday #208 and this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch #158 to make my card:

Isn't this a fabulously cheery color combo?  I really enjoyed creating this card using only one of the sentiments from TCP's "Nesting" set as my stamping.  The birdhouse die and Cloud border die are also from TCP (Home Tweet Home).

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget about the rest of the Chicks - they love it when you visit too.  :)

{4CCC-88} and a BLOG HOP!!

Hello all!!  Are you ready for another fun challenge from the 4 Crafty Chicks?  Not only do we have a great theme, but we are also looking for some Guest Designers to play along with us over the summer!  This week's challenge is brought to us by Leanne, and she's got an easy one for us - all you have to do is use your favorite embellishment!  Really?  That's all???  Yep!  That's all you have to do!

I haven't been in my craft room as much since I started back to work three days a week so I kind of fell behind with my TCP Tuesday challenges - time to remedy that!  I was able to combine two of last month's challenges for my card - TCP Tuesday 205 was a fabulous sketch  from Leigh and TCP Tuesday 206 was an Inspiration challenge from Jen.  When I first saw the inspiration pictures, I immediately thought of the colors as being very nautical so I took that and went with it. :)

I used an older TCP set, Whale of a Time, as well as my Waves Cut-Ups die to create this fun card:

Okie dokie, peeps - that's it for me today!  Don't forget to check out all the Guest Designer details on the 4 Crafty Chicks blog if you are interested in joining us.  Next stop on our amazing blog hop is TAMIE... off you go!
