4CCC-93 {Monochromatic}

Hello crafty peeps!  How are things going where you are?  What an absolutely lovely week we have been having in Central Alberta...let's hope that this is an indication of what is to come for the rest of the summer.  :)  I am gearing up for another race this Saturday in Lethbridge - an 8K. with my sister and my brother's girlfriend.  I ran this one last year and it was my very first race EVER so I hope to improve over last year's time.

This week's challenge over at the 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge is brought to us by Leanne and she wants to see some monochromatic cards.  You all know how much I {heart} my color challenges and all the crazy combos that go along with them so this was a *true* challenge for me.  I decided to go with a fairly neutral combo of Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.  I found the sketch over at Clean and Simple Stamping...VERY quick to throw together.  :)

The sentiment is from "Bloom" from The Cat's Pajamas as is the Heart Die - LOVE their stuff.  Alma always has fabulous customer service and the stamps are uber-cute.  I hope you will be able to play along with us this week and if you need more inspiration, don't forget about the other Chicks!  Thanks for stopping by today - enjoy your weekend!

4CCC-91 {Color Challenge}

Thanks for stopping by today!!  It has been a rainy, dreary week here in Central Alberta - perfect crafting and baking weather and I have today off so that is exactly what I'll be doing. :) For those of you interested, we had PERFECT weather for our 10K run on Sunday...the course was beautiful and we all surpassed our personal expectations - can't wait to run it again next year!

This week's challenge at the 4 Crafty Chicks is my FAVORITE kind - a COLOR challenge!  Lori is our hostess-with-the-mostest and this is what she's concocted to get your creative juices flowing:
I really love these Clean & Simple Stamping sketches - you can pull a card together sooooo quickly and it looks like you spent hours in your craft room!

If you need some more inspiration, don't forget about the other Chicks - they'd love to have you stop by!  Their links are on the side.  Have a great week - to my friends in the US, enjoy your long weekend!!!  See you soon!

Sentimental Sundays Goes... Sentimental????

Morning everyone!

Sorry I am a bit late this morning - we have all been sick so being on the computer has not been at the top of my "to-do" list.  I will make this post short and sweet so I can crawl back to bed.

This week's Sentimental Sundays challenge is to focus on the sentiment.  That should be an easy one to do, right?  I combined this challenge with the Colour Q colors and the clean & simple stamping sketch.  This card is actually the second one I made because the first one (see below) didn't exactly *focus on the sentiment* so I made another one:

So here's the first card I made using the same Colour Q colors but I used the Viva la Verve Week Four sketch:

Thanks for popping by today - I will try to come and post the details for y'all later.  Enjoy your weekend!

PPC #48 - Clean & Simple

Morning all!  I have been a busy beaver this weekend trying to get ahead of the game with my DT cards - the boys and I are taking another road trip to visit my parents for a nice, LONG weekend.  This week's Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo is one that was pretty easy for me:

The sketch I used is one from last week's clean&simple stamping:

Seriously, this card took less than half an hour - that's LIGHT SPEED for me!  :)

Stamps: Because I Care (SU!)  Paper: Cappella (BG), Origins (BG), SU DSP, Kraft, Concord Crush  Ink: Concord Crush, Crumb Cake  Accessories: Crumb Cake seam binding, vintage button, twine

Wow... I think that's the shortest list of ingredients I've ever had!  LOL  And no paper piercing this time!  ;)  I hope you'll play along with us at PPC this week.  If you have time, please check out the rest of the PPC Creators' blogs - they love it when you do!  See you on Wednesday!

Spread Your Wings and Fly ...

Hi everyone!  Here we are 2 days post-Christmas... have you all recovered?  I hope you all ate too much and laughed until your stomach hurt - that's the best part of Christmas.  :)

Megan has given us a great combo for this week's Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge - I hope you will be able to play with us:

I made this card last week in my crafting frenzy and needed a CAS layout (something I'm enjoying more and more...) so I popped over to clean&simple stamping to see what they had for us and found:

Stamps: Beautiful Kindness (Verve)  Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Rose Red, Greenhouse Gala DSP  Ink: Night of Navy  Accessories: Paper piercer, Scallop Edge border punch, Beautiful Wings embosslit, adhesive pearls

I hope you will take a few minutes to play along with us this week - don't forget to check out the rest of the PPC Creators' blogs to see their amazing cards.  See you back here on Wednesday for a brand new Color Dare!

Red & White Friday Fun

Hello everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed your week and are looking forward to the weekend...how many of you are going to be Christmas shopping?  I don't {want} to go out but I may have to...*sigh*  I have had a busy day today and would like to just stay home and hibernate but we'll see what the rest of the family wants to do.  Maybe they'll all go away and leave me alone in the house... ah, a girl can dream, can't she?

Anyhoo, today's card is a combination of the Play Date Cafe's fabulous color combination and clean&simple stamping's sketch:

Don't you LOVE red and white together?  So bright and uplifting for any time of the year...

Stamps: Tiny Tags  Ink: Cherry Cobbler  Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler  Accessories: Paper piercer, Northern Flurries embossing folder, Seeing Spots embossing folder, oval punches, adhesive pearls and rhinestones, baker's twine, button, Cherry Cobbler seam binding, ribbon slider (Hodgepodge Hardware), sponge dauber

Thanks for peeking tonight - dinner's almost ready and then I think I'll spend some time on the couch watching a movie... we have "The Expendables" that I haven't seen yet so maybe I'll pop it in.  Enjoy your evening - see you Sunday!

My Sentimental Sunday DT Debut!

WOW - what a fabulous group of ladies Ann put together for her "renovated" Sentimental Sundays design team and I am lucky enough to be included amongst them all.  :)  There are some names familiar to me and some new ones so it will be fun getting to know everyone.

This week's challenge is to create a Birthday Card...with a sentiment, of course.  I wanted to use one of Ann's Raindrop Echo Designs Digital Collection but couldn't really find any sentiments that screamed "BIRTHDAY!" to me.  I used the Diva Coffee Break Designs Color Challenge and the clean&simple stamping sketch layout from last week:

Recipe - Stamp: Small Script (SU!)  Paper: Poppy Parade, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, So Saffron, SU! DSP  Ink: Poppy Parade  Accessories: Buttons, twine, square punches, paper piercer, Elegant Bouquet embossing folder

Thanks for stopping by today - who's got fun plans for Halloween tonight?  We're not really big into Halloween so nothing going on here.  I hope you all enjoy spooking with your little ghosts and goblins - see you tomorrow for a new PPC challenge!

Friday Fun - Take Two!

I'm ba-ack.  :)  I got my Pumpkin Cinnamon Buns done but the Caramel Apple Muffins are going to have to wait.  {Someone} got distracted by a color challenge.  I'm sure that doesn't happen to anyone else, right?

You want to see what prevented me from baking cupcakes?  Well, here's the Play Date Cafe's color challenge for this week ... aren't the colors fabulously calm and soothing?

You all know that I can't let an awesome color combo be without an equally awesome sketch so off to clean&simple stamping I went to find this beauty:

I decided to use Crumb Cake/Kraft, Baja Breeze and Sage Shadow for my colors and stuck with the leaf/nature theme to create this bit of loveliness:

Stamp: Lemons, Life and Love (Flourishes)  Paper: Woodland Walk DSP, Baja Breeze, Sage Shadow, Kraft, Very Vanilla  Ink: Crumb Cake  Accessories: Paper piercer, corner rounder, Leafy Branch embossing folder, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Kraft taffeta ribbon, Daisies Die (Sizzix), button, hemp twine

Okie dokie - that's going to be it for today.  DH is bringing home "How to Train Your Dragon" so we'll be popping some popcorn and hunkering down in front of the TV tonight.  Enjoy your Friday night - see you back here on Monday for a new Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo!
