Color Dare #76 and a Sweet Sunday Sketch

Welcome, welcome, welcome!  I'm so thrilled to be a part of Riley's new design team over at the Color Dare and this week she's given us a combination that {I} found a bit challenging:

Old Olive
Elegant Eggplant
Rose Red
Not Quite Navy

I love all of these colors but with most of them being rather, shall we say, dark, I found it difficult to come up with a card that convinced me that it was {the one}.  I finally decided that the one I created with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch would be it (but I'm still not totally pleased...)

Recipe - Stamps: Vintage Labels (SU!)  Paper: Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant, Not Quite Navy, Rose Red, SU! DSP, Old Olive  Ink: Not Quite Navy  Accessories: Elegant Lines embossing folder, Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon, square punch, small oval punch, crocheted flower, buttons, hemp twine, felt leaves, adhesive pearls, scallop edge border punch

Please take a minute to stop in and see what the rest of the Color Dare design team came up with - their links are to the left in my sidebar.  I can`t wait to see what you create using this interesting color combination!

A Fond Farewell...

Hello everyone! This week in The Shabby Tea Room marks the end of my six-month term as a Shabby Girl...*sniff*  I have had so much fun creating alongside these wonderful, creative ladies.  Debbie has been so incredibly gracious and supportive during the past six months and for that I want to say a heartfelt "Thank you."  I still feel very honored that she chose me to be part of her "baby"...

With all that out of the way, let's get to this week's Shabby Tea Room challenge - Audrey has given us this lovely photo as an inspiration to create a project featuring nature and/or the color green:

This week's sponsor in the Tea Room is Tiffany Doodles - they have a fabulous selection of digital images and this week's winner will receive six images, four images will go to the 2nd runner up and the 3rd runner up will get to choose 2 images!  How generous is that?

This week's colors over at the Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge work perfectly together with TSTR challenge:

I used Taylor's newest sketch:

Recipe: Stamps - Poppy With Oval (Tiffany Doodles Digi), From The Garden (Flourishes)  Ink: Early Espresso Paper: Early Espresso, Bashful Blue, SU! DSP, Whisper White  Accessories: Elegant Lines embossing folder, Nestabilities, Copics, oval punch, Bashful Blue satin ribbon, hemp twine, sponge dauber

I've Got Some Fabulous News...

... and now I can share it with you all!  I have the honor and privilege of joining Riley's wonderful design team over at The Color Dare for the next six months!!   I am so excited to be involved in another color challenge because, I must admit, they are my favorite kind of challenges.  :)

The first amazing color combo is one I really {heart}: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Pretty in Pink and Garden Green.  My first instinct was to make a springy-floral card but as I peeked through my papers and stamps, it evolved in to a... WINTER card!  ACK!  Are you ready for it yet?  Here in Alberta, the mornings start out VERY chilly - almost scarf and touque time.  :)

I thought I could use Julee's magnificent (as usual) Mojo Monday sketch:

And voila!

Recipe - Stamps: Snow Wonderful (Verve)  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler  Paper: Garden Green, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Pretty in Pink, SU! DSP  Accessories: Paper piercer, Nestabilities, Pretty in Pink satin ribbon, Copic Spica glitter pen (clear), button, hemp twine, small and large tag punch, Snowflakes embossing folder, Candy Cane Stripe embossing folder

I hope you will join us for this week's Color Dare - and then stop and see what the rest of the brand new design team created with these colors.  :)

See you tomorrow for another 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge!

Bugaboo Stamps in The Shabby Tea Room!

Welcome back everyone!

I'm so excited this week because Bugaboo Stamps is our sponsor in The Shabby Tea Room!  I LOVE the images Jodi has designed - they are ALL super-cute and appeal to a wide range of stampers and this week's winner will receive seven digi images of their choice!  How exciting is that?

This week's theme in the Tea Room is, "Tag! You're It!" - create a card or project with a tag.  Easy peasy, right?  :)  When I picked my image from Bugaboo I had this week's Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge in mind:

Don't you just love the new Stampin' Up colors?  These ones are so fun and summery.  I'm trying to hold onto the summer as long as I can - the air is starting to feel awfully "crisp" in the morning.  Mercy's Tuesday Sketch was the perfect inspiration for this week's card - I made a few minor alterations....

Recipe - Stamp: Flower Bear ~Sunflower (Bugaboo digi images), Tiny Tags (SU!)  Ink: Onyx Black Versafine, Marina Mist, Peach Parfait  Paper: Peach Parfait, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, SU! DSP  Accessories: Paper piercer, Copics, jewelry tag punch, brad, MS Optic Dot border punch, Argyle embossing folder, Seeing Spots embossing folder

Make sure you stop by and see what the rest of the Shabby Girls created for this week's challenge...

Debbie Marcinkiewicz - {TSTR Creator} - Simple Treasures
Audrey Pettit - Audrey Pettit's Weblog
Cathy Clark - Papier Girl
Lisa Golzbein - Oh So Cute By Lisa
Nicole Segnere - My Craft Room Creations
And then check out the rest of the PPC Creators to see how they used these awesome colors:
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to get your project done for the inaugural 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge - the deadline is tomorrow night at midnight MST!

Are You Ready For 4 Crafty Chicks?

I'm SOOOOOOOO excited this morning!  Do you know why???  'Cause it's time for the very, very FIRST 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge!!!  My "peeps" and I have been thinking about starting our own challenge blog for awhile and we finally decided to just DO IT!  Leanne, Lori, Tamie and I are four friends who all enjoy all things papercrafty and LOVE challenges so it was a perfect fit for us to share that love with all of you.

Our challenges will be posted every Thursday morning with submissions due the following Tuesday at midnight MST. To be eligible, your card, scrapbook page, or 3D altered project must be linked directly back to your post, not just to your blog.  Don't have a blog but still want to participate?  No worries!  You are more than welcome to upload your card to an online gallery (ex. www.splitcoaststampers.com), and then use the url for your photo in your gallery as the link that you post in your comment.  If you upload to online galleries, please use keyword/tag 4CCC-1.

For our inaugural challenge, Leanne has created a FABULOUS sketch:

I found this lovely, FALL color combo from the Little Paper Shop Challenge and knew I could use an adorable Verve image that hasn't seen nearly enough ink.

Recipe - Stamp: Hello Pumpkin (Verve)  Ink: Onyx Black Versafine  Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Old Olive, Kraft, SU! DSP  Accessories: Martha Stewart Optic Dot border punch, paper piercer, clear embossing powder, hemp twine, buttons, Kraft taffeta ribbon, brad, tag die-cut, Victoria embossing folder

We'd love to have you join us for our very first challenge - each week's winner will win the much-coveted "Golden Egg" and will receive a badge to display proudly on their blog.  If you play along, make sure you link your creation back at the 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge.   We cannot WAIT to see what you all create for us - the more the merrier so make sure to spread the word!
