Summer Fun the Shabby Tea Room!

Are you ready to play with us again in The Shabby Tea Room?  I am the hostess for this week's Theme Challenge: "Summer Fun."  We want to see YOUR interpretation of this theme... will the colors of summer inspire you or will the summer activities you and your family enjoy be your inspiration?  I can't wait to see what you all create.  :)

Here in Alberta, we've been "enjoying" rain, rain and more rain so summer fun has been the last thing on my mind lately!  But, not one to let a bit of rain get in my way of creating a fun summer card, I sat down to create this adorable card with (yet) another new Pure Innocence girlie...isn't she the CUTEST??

Debbie very graciously sent us all some of her fabulous vintage seam binding to play with  - what great stuff it is - I used Oatmeal Cream.  If you are interested in purchasing some of this beautiful embellishment, please visit her Etsy store: Simple Treasures.  This week's winner will WIN some of this fabulousness so make sure to play with us!

I also used this week's sketch from the OCC Sketch Blog:

Stacey's Curtain Call - Act 34

Welcome back for another super fabulous color combination from Stacey - I don't know how she does it week after week...  :)  I happen to {heart} these colors:

This was another one I worked on while I was in Jasper a couple of weeks ago.  I wasn't sure what direction to go with these colors so I held up all the pieces of cardstock for my PIC, Lori, to see (without telling her what it was for, of course...) and asked her what the colors "said" to her.  She immediately said, "Sympathy," so that's exactly what I did:

Recipe - Stamps: Forever in Our Hearts (Verve)  Paper: Sahara Sand, Basic Grey, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Dusty Durango, Razzleberry DP  Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand  Accessories: Paper piercer, Basic Grey satin ribbon, Square Lattice embossing folder

The Curtain Call Crew has samples to show you today, too, so make sure you stop by to see:

Shelley Germann at Stampin' Garden
Sue Kohler at My Inner Reflection and

our fabulous Guest Designer for June...Christina Maclaren at Seaglass & Sentiments

...then play along with us and post your Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 33 creation using Mr. Linky at Stacey's Stamping Stage.

Enjoy your Sunday - I will see you again tomorrow!

Totally Stampalicious Meets JUGS

Wow ... did anyone watch "The Bachelorette" tonight?  What a gong show!  It's beginning to look like Vienna and Jake all over again - these men are almost as catty as the ladies were with Jake.  Who knew??  LOL

I said I'd be back with one more card today and here I am.  :)  This time I used Totally Stampalicious's color challenge to use yellow and blue ( I used Crushed Curry, Night of Navy and Cool Caribbean) and the sketch is from Just Us Girls (rotated, of course)...

Recipe - Stamps: Fat Mice Flower (Totally Stampalicious)  Accessories: Buttons, wire, library clip, oval punch, paper piercer, Copics

That'll be it for me tonight - it's past my bedtime!  LOL  Thanks for stopping by - see you later!

Mojo Monday Meets The Pink Elephant!

Can you believe I actually had time to make a card FOR FUN????  I haven't done that in quite some time and let me tell you...it feels AWESOME!  It's been awhile since I played with Julee's Mojo Monday sketch and this week just happens to be a contest week where up to seven lucky people will win some VERVE-Y goodness!  Gotta love that, hey?

This sketch had me stumped for awhile - the tilted panel really threw me.  I'm normally a straight, square, EVEN kind of gal so when someone throws an ANGLE at me, I have to really think about it.  :)

I also used this week's challenge over at The Pink Elephant where the challenge is a Recipe Challenge: "The color red, scallops and a bow."  Easy peasy...  :)

Recipe - Stamps: Psalm 51:10 (Verve)  Ink: Real Red  Paper: Real Red, Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Sending Love DSP  Accessories: Paper piercer, Nestabilities, Pretty in Pink satin ribbon, sponge dauber, satin flower, button, scallop edge punch, adhesive pearls

This card also fits the Paper Makeup Stamps June release challenge to use flowers on your card!

I'm going to take a break and get supper going for the monsters but I hope to be back later tonight with Totally Stampalicious's "Blue and Yellow" challenge!  See you then!

PPC Challenge #16 - The Dreaded Pacific Point...

Welcome back!  I have to admit that this week's color combination from Megan over at PPC was NOT my most favorite in the world. I've said it before and I will say it again... I do NOT like Pacific Point.  I was shocked when I saw it was one of the colors SU brought back to add to their collection.  I guess there are lots of people who obviously did not share my intense dislike of this color!  LOL

I did what I could to make the colors "work" and all I can say is... thank goodness for my Verves!  They are ALWAYS my go-to stamps in a pinch.

Make sure to stop and see what the rest of the PPC Creators did with these colors:

I hope you will take some time to join us and create something fabulous!  Maybe one of you out there will make me LOVE Pacific Point????

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy your Monday!

The Shabby Tea Room Meets the King of the Grill...

Happy Monday!

It's time for another challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room and this week's challenge was a challenge for me: "Just For Dad" - create a card or project with a Father's Day and/or masculine theme.  I always have trouble making masculine cards because they just can't be as "involved" as I like my cards to be... no ribbon, few or no embellies, no bling... what is a card without BLING, my friends???

So, in addition to having difficulty with making masculine cards, I was under the weather all of last week, DS#2 had *issues* at school on Friday and I had to leave work to pick him up - it was one of those weeks I wish I could have just stayed in bed with the covers pulled up over my head.  I finally sat down to make my card on Friday night and, with my sincere apologies to you all, what I came up with is the best I could do...

I used the super-simple sketch from the gals over at the Diva Coffee Break Designs Challenge:
