Happy Easter From The 4 Crafty Chicks!

Are you ready for another fantastic challenge from the 4 Crafty Chicks??  This week's hostess extraordinaire, Tamie, has given us the theme of Easter to work with... can you dig it?  I only own three Easter-ish stamps so this was actually a rather difficult challenge for me.

I found a new-to-me color challenge (y'all know how much I {heart} me my color challenges...) over at CR84FN - get it??  Create for Fun???  Love it!  This week's combo was perfect for a pastel-y Easter card:

I used one of my Stamping Bella stamps that, *eek*, has NEVER seen ink... isn't it cute???

Stamps: Cracked Up Huggabugg (Stamping Bella), Teeny Tiny Wishes (SU!)  Ink: Baja Breeze, Versafine Onyx Black  Paper: Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze, Soft Sky, SU! DSP  Accessories: Very Vanilla satin ribbon, adhesive pearls, Charming Oval and Charming Banner dies (Verve), sewing machine, button, twine, Nesties, Copics

My card was loosely based on week's Mojo Monday sketch - VERY loosely based...

Thanks for stopping by this week - I hope you will play along with us at the 4CC so we can see all of your wonderful Easter creations!  Enjoy the Easter weekend - hopefully you will be able to spend some time with family and friends.  See you later!

Another Color Dare Wednesday

Morning everyone! You'll have to excuse my frantic post this morning - I forgot to come back and finish it after I uploaded the pics so when I woke up this morning I PANICKED!  I have a few minutes now before the kids get up for school, so here I am!

This week's color combo over at the Color Dare is Poppy Parade, So Saffron and Very Vanilla.  I decided to use the Unscripted Sketches newest sketch as well as the Paper Players' challenge to make a Valentine's card:

OH - I also decorated a coordinating envelope for this week's challenge at Just Us Girls.  :)

I will try to come back later to post the deets on my card - time to get the monsters up!  Later gators!

Daisyboardabella at Picture Perfect Creations

Well, here we are again...  :)

I AM LOVING this week's color combination at Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge and cannot WAIT for these two new colors to be available for purchase!  Unfortunately, since I am not a SU! demonstrator, I do not yet *have* these fabulous colors so I had to substitute Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red for the Espresso and Cherry:

Stamps: Daisyboardabella (Stamping Bella), sentiment from Little Paper Shop  Paper: Whisper White, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Elegant Eggplant, SU! DP  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Chocolate Chip  Accessories: Clear embossing powder, Riding Hood Red ribbon, Copics, paper piercer, hodgepodge hardware, mat pack

Make sure to stop and see what the rest of the PPC Creators did with these colors:

That's it for me today, everyone - I've given you lots to do so skedaddle and get busy!  :)  Later, gators!

Curtain Call - Act #28

Welcome to another week at The Curtain Call!  As usual, Stacey has given us a lovely color combination to inspire and challenge us:

I went through my stamps and found another one from Stamping Bella that hadn't seen ink yet - "Izzie Has a Prezzie" and got to work.  I paper-pieced her dress and then colored the rest with Copics.  I machine-stitched some ribbon along the bottom and "Voila!"...

Recipe - Stamps: Izzie Has a Prezzie (Stamping Bella), Vintage Labels (SU!)  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Not Quite Navy  Paper: Kraft, Not Quite Navy, Rose Red, Whisper White, SU! DP  Accessories: Rectangle Nestabilities, paper piercer, Kraft taffeta ribbon, Divine Swirls EF, sewing machine, buttons, hemp twine, Copics, clear embossing powder

Don't forget to stop and see what eye candy the rest of the Crew has created for us this week:

Enjoy your Sunday - see you tomorrow with a new Shabby Tea Room challenge as well as a Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo!

Are You Ready For Act 22?

Hello crafty peeps!  It's time for Act 22 over at the Curtain Call!  Prepare yourselves for a *bold* color combination from Stacey this week.

I had a VERY hard time with these colors and even contemplated making another card because I wasn't totally pleased with this one.  Available time (or lack thereof) won out over my negative self-talk and this is what I was able to come up with:

Recipe - Stamps: LOVEbeetle Huggabugg (Stamping Bella Ink: Versafie Onyx Black, Pink Passion  Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pink Passion, Yo-Yo Yellow  Accessories: Embossing Folders (Argyle, Paisley, Spots and Dots), Pinking Circles Nesties, hodgepodge hardware, black satin ribbon, button, hemp twine, paper piercer, Copics, adhesive pearls

I love this little stamp - in fact I love all of these little Huggabuggs!  She doesn't see ink nearly as much as she should but when I saw the Yo-Yo Yellow and put it together with my little bug...well, that's my "classic" Volkswagon Beetle...bright yellow!  Don't ask me why!!??

Now you've seen what I came up with - - - be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the Curtain Call Crew did with these bold, bright colors:

Shhhhh...It's WAYYYY Past My Bedtime

... but I found another really cool sketch and color challenge!  Well, I didn't exactly *find* the sketch - my peeps, Leanne and Tamie have already used this sketch to make some awesome cards so I thought I'd see what I could do with it.  Paper Sundaes has their seventh sketch up now:

ANOTHER square card!  I really like the square card because it gives me a chance to use some of those bigger stamps I can't use on a regular sized card.  I paired it with Julie's Easy Breezy Kewl Colour Challenge:

Ummmm...what?  Bermuda Bay with Artichoke?  Are you kidding?  After much contemplation and rearranging, I came up with this:

After all is said and done, I think I did a pretty good job of working the Artichoke in there but keeping it to a minimum and letting the Bermuda and Burgundy be the stars.  This adorable little girlie is from Stamping Bella - Hydrangea Bittybloom - and there are MANY more cutie-patootie stamps just like her.

Ok - going to bed now.  I have to work for a bit in the morning but I hope to come back for some Verve-y fun tomorrow afternoon!  See you then!

You're An Angel...

Happy Friday everyone!

First of all, I want to thank the crew over at The Play Date Cafe for choosing MY card as their "Cup of the Week" for last week's challenge!!  I am super-excited and feel honored to be recognized for my card.  It gives me warm fuzzies knowing that my fellow crafters appreciate my work - although I'd keep doing it even if they didn't!  LOL

I've been awfully busy the last couple of days and haven't had any time to sit and create until after lunch today.  I've had the cardstock sitting on my counter since Wednesday night...calling to me..." I was over at Lori's yesterday and then Sam had a Reach tournament in town afterschool so I was the lucky parent who got to go and watch him and his team win all five of their games - YAY them!  I spent this morning at my new, part-time job down at our little country store so when I got home at one, I *had* to take some "me" time.

I used Delightful Sketches and Challenges sketch and Picture Perfect Creations' color challenge:

I really like this color combo and wanted to use one of my Stamping Bella stamps that hadn't seen ink for awhile.  I  found Peony Bittybloom and knew she'd be perfect.

Recipe - Stamps: Peony Bittybloom (Stamping Bella), Celebrating You (Verve)  Ink: Onyx Black Versafine, Soft Suede, Copics  Paper: DP paper pad, Kraft, Bashful Blue, Soft Suede, Old Olive  Accessories: Nestabilities. paper piercer, paper flowers, rhinestone brad, adhesive pearls, oval and circle punches, Old Olive twill ribbon, Swiss Dots EF

Well, that's likely going to be it for me tonight.  I *may* have some time when I get home from the gym but that's only if I don't need toothpicks to keep my eyes open!  Maybe I can get the card done before I go the gym and then I only have to post it... we'll see.

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy your Friday!

Tuesday Morning Fun

I've been busy this morning trying to get a couple of challenges done while trying not to listen to the eldest son throw up incessantly... *sigh*  Knock on wood, though, I think he's fallen asleep for now.

I waited very patiently for Arielle to post her Colour Q Challenge and then spent at LEAST 20 minutes looking for something that would pass for Apricot Appeal (yet one more colour I don't have!):

I found this sketch on the weekend at Crazy 4 Challenges but haven't used it yet - I love all the layers!  You're surprised by that, I know...*wink*

It was tough - 'specially with that Green Galore thrown in - but I think I did OK:

Don't you just love this Bella?? Her hair flowing behind in the wind, her snazzy hubcaps... makes me smile!

I've got one more card to post and then I need to do some *stuff* around the house.  See you in a bit!

Tick Tock, Tick Tock...

...is it 2010 yet?  For some of you 'round the world, it is indeed! :)  For me, not quite yet ~ but soon.  Time to get one more blog post with my last challenge card of the year.

Well, Stacey is back!  Before I went on blog hiatus, I tried to do her jewelry-inspired color challenges each week.  When I finally got the mojo flowing again, I discovered that she had changed the name and look of the challenge to Curtain Call Color Challenge - but the great color combos stayed the same.  :)  And this one was no different:

Don't those colors scream fun??  They also whisper, "How on EARTH am I going to put them all together in ONE card???"  :)  Thankfully, I also had Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch to help me figure it out:

I know the card is supposed to be square, but mine isn't - creative liberties, right?   The card might have been less "busy" if I had made it square, but... here's what I came up with:

Recipe - Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes (SU!), Lottie and Gussie Gabalot (Stamping BellaInk: Versafine Onyx Black, Real Red  Paper: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Crushed Curry, Real Red Paper Pad, Whisper White  Accessories: Nestabilities (Labels Nine), Copics, cleaqr embossing powder, Swiss Dots EF, Martha Stewart border punch, satin ribbons, button, silver cord, oval punches, brads

I cannot believe these Bellas had never seen ink - until tonight.  :)  Aren't they fab?  Don't they just make you think of your bestest friend in the whole world?

Okie dokie - time to call it a night.  Thanks for stopping by - see you next year!  :)

Two-'fer

Hi again!  Thanks for checking back on a blustery night here in Central Alberta - crazy winds all night last night and throughout today.  I've been battling a headache ever since I woke up this morning so even though I wanted to craft, I didn't want to think.  Luckily, there are some LOVELY ladies that do some of the thinking for me by posting weekly sketch challenges!  I've been wanting to use the Georgia Peach DP (retired, sadly) since I got it a couple of weeks ago but just haven't had the opportunity.  Tonight I grabbed the chance to use this bright, fun paper for two cards.

Jen had an interesting sketch for us and Our Creative Corner's weekly challenge was to use 2 or more hearts on a card:

Remember last week when I said I didn't have many stamps that were circle-oriented??  Well, that certainly made this sketch a wee bit more difficult but I persevered.  I dug through my acrylic stamps and found the "Be Loved" set by Cloud Nine Designs.  I stamped 3 images with my Versafine Onyx Black, clear embossed them and colored them with my Copics.  While I was coloring one of the images, I had a bit of an "oops" so I dug through my embellishments and found this glass heart charm to cover it up - WHEW!  Not exactly the look I was going for but it works.  I used my Nesties and layered them on some Regal Rose circles.  The fourth image is from the "Love Matters" set from Stampin' Up.  I stamped the flowers with Pretty in Pink and then stamped the sentiment with Old Olive.  Some ribbon, fibres, brads and Cuttlebugging complete this card:

The second sketch is for the Viva La Verve Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.  The {twist} for this challenge was to also use embossing somewhere on the card.  I have to admit, my embossing was kind of an afterthought - I clear embossed the main image and the sentiment.  The sentiment is from SU!'s "Small Sayings" set.

In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have used my Bella because she's a bit too big for this sketch but she's SOOO cute!  LOL  I used the same Georgia Peach DP and coordinating color cardstock, Copics etc.   I used my oval Nesties to cut the image and Old Olive layer and then used dimensionals to pop her up.  I used 3 black brads at the top and 3 little buttons at the bottom to finish this one off:

What do you think?  I just smile when I look at this paper - it's so "happy!"  I have a feeling I will be using this paper a lot in the future since I have put myself on a No New Paper Diet - I have entirely too many sheets of DP so I need to use them up (or at least put a dent in them. . .) before I buy anymore. . . Sad, isn't it???

Thanks for stopping by - see you tomorrow!

Cupcake Challenge x 9 = Mucho Fun!

What a fun weekend I had!  Taylor is celebrating a year of Cupcake Challenges and she and her Cupcake Crew came up with not ONE, but NINE amazing sketches for us all to play along with.  Let me tell you - I was so "in the groove" I was up until the wee hours on Saturday night/Sunday morning.  For those of you who KNOW me, that is UNHEARD of!  LOL  Not only are there some great sketches but each sketch hostess-with-the-mostest is also offering up some great prizes.

Since I have so many cards to get through, I won't put a lot of details about each one but I will post the recipe.  I have been trying so hard to use up my scraps and papers I've already cut into so all of these cards were made from this part of my stash.  Hopefully, if you click on each picture, it will open a bit bigger so you can *see* it.  I did use my Copics for the first times on these cards - I think I did OK with them but I still have a LOT to learn (and many more colors to get!)  SO, without further ado. . .

Well, that's all of them! I hope you will all go over and take a look at each of the sample cards the Cupcake Crew has put together. I had so much fun and any it was a good excuse to craft in exchange for a chance to win goodies!

Have a great week!
