Got Chipboard?

Welcome back for another challenge from The Shabby Tea Room!  It is my turn to host this week's challenge and I wanted to "step out of my box" and try something I haven't done for awhile.  I have TONS of chipboard and very rarely use it so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to use it... I'm sure I'm not the only chipboard hoarder out there, right?

So I found a chipboard flower and a little buckle thing and got to work.  I traced the flower onto a piece of Origins DP, cut it out and attached it to the chipboard with Mod Podge.  Once it was dry, I used a file to sand the edges and then inked them with black ink.  I used a technique on the buckle part I had seen on Jen's blog awhile ago and it worked perfectly to contain the glitter that inevitably goes all over the place - I adhered the glitter with Mod Podge and then spread Crystal Effects all over and let it dry...

And then used OCC's sketch:

And...TA-DAAA!

Recipe - Stamps: Psalm 51:10 Plain Jane (Verve Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Origins DP (Basic Grey)  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black  Accessories: Chipboard, polka dot satin ribbon, paper piercer, Scallop Edge punch, Crystal Effects, glitter (Martha Stewart), clear embossing powder, black satin ribbon, Mod Podge, foam brush

Cute card, Melissa. I love the Origins papers and your layered chipboard flower and buckle are wonderful. Really like the glitter on the buckle.

Absolutely fabulous, as usual! Thanks for the tutorial on the crystal effects/chipboard technique -- I saw that and have been wanting to try, but now I have no excuse not to since you showed us all how :)
